No, he did not. He killed the species called a house sparrow. They are incredibly invasive and literally poop everywhere. They can be killed anytime they’re not a neighborhood bird. They can be found in neighborhoods, but they can be killed anytime.
Nothing goes to waste, starlings, sparrows , mice ,rats, gophers they are All Natural, Organic pet food! ( And Gluten-Free to boot ). My ferrets love the snacks, my chickens squabble over the mice(one of their favorite foods!) And Gertie,My snapping Turtle, likes them All!

This one looks like a male house sparrow. Its the light brown color and black band on its throat, not to mention the short beak. Equally as invasive and fair game.

Played around with them shooting cans but my first BB gun was a daisy quicksilver. Black and silver. Was really nice pump up gun. I wore it out. Shot after shot after shot. It lasted til I got my first 20 gauge single shot. I'm back into air guns now and just bought a hatsan 25 cal. I love it but it's a break barrel and am really wanting a Pcp. Maybe one day 😊

Had one of these for years growing up. Shot it so much I wore out the spring. Got to the point where it would still "fire," but the BB would just limply roll down the barrel.
As someone who hunted a lot with a red rider as a child, I can tell you that you didn't get the bird, you hit it, but, it just flew down the other side of the fence.

The bird I shot in this video died instantly and fell on the other side of the roof. With a head or neck shot bbguns have plenty of power. Watch the full video if you don't believe me.

You shouldn't even kill bird if they don't harm you, and I'm not a city-hippie and love hunting. The point is, not everyone can shoot a small bird efficiently enough every time. You can spend a few dollars more and get it straight if you have to shoot anything breathing and live.

@@Very.Specific.person it's called hunting for sport and the bird feeds the bugs, scavengers and gives the soil nutrients; all necessary for a balanced ecosystem. Big game sport hunters donate the meat. But even if they didn't, it still will feed living things .
I used to rate the checkout ome star every time, but then I learned that all it does is make the higher-ups give the workers a talking-to, so I rate 5 stars every time now.
At was my 1st gun ever. I killed hundreds of english sparrows with it growing up. Shot mice, starlings, frogs, chipmunks with it. The front sight is big but after a while u get good with it. Still have it but the cocking lever is broken but still shoots
As a hunter, this is saddening. You yourself said that you didnt know/think that could kill something, and then you proceed to shoot it at things. You very well could have wounded whatever you shot and been unable to kill it, only limiting it to suffering. Idk if you are a Christian or not, but God placed us over creation to care for it, and if you aren’t religious, then it is a matter of decency and personal responsibility if nothing else.
Quick story. On Easter when I was 8 my parents got me a rough Ryder b b gun. Well me and all my cousins went walking on our trails with our Papa (RIP) while the women were at the house cooking the Easter dinner. Anyways best believe I had my rough Ryder with me and a cardinal dropped on the ground in front of us, about 40 ft give or take. I lifter my new red Ryder shot that sucker in the head and he flopped around and died pretty quick, I thought my papa would be proud of the shot I was able to make. Instead he grabbed my bb gun walked me to the now dead bird by my ear told me to pick it up. He made me carry it back to the river house with us. He showed me how to pluck, gut and eat that bird. And that was my Easter dinner when I was 8. Boiled up Robin meat plain. Moral of the story my grandpa gave me was. Don’t ever kill anything that ain’t tryna kill you or that you ain’t gonna eat.
When I was 13, I found that same daisy BB gun in a hospital parking lot. It had some minor dents but it works perfectly. I customized it. I named it & etched “the bastard” on its side.
I remember saving up $30 as a kid to buy this BB gun. Ended up having it taken away for many years because I had accidentally shot out a neighbors window with it. Eventually got it back
I have this exact same rifle in real life, and it's a smaller version of the "Red Ryder" BB gun. So if you want this gun but bigger, get the Red Ryder.
I got mine for my 5th bday...and was the bane of many squirrels and chipmunks. Of course i went with my dad and his friends hunting and target shooting before this and learned how to be safe.
When I was about 7 years old I am 65 now I watched a guy burning wasp nest down from the second story of our grade school I ask how you doing that he had the cheap daisy gun and a kitchen match would just fit into the barrel he would sharpen the stem and put it in head first when he shot the gun the bb would hit the match and light it it would fly up and stick into the wasp nest and burn it up really cool.
Hell yeah you got yourself a good gun there i had many years of fun with that daisy my first bird,rabbit,and many more animals. That thing is accurate ive had the same daisy for 10 years now and i know everything about it it you should aim maybe an inch above your target because if you exeed about 20 yards she drops an inch lower the bb does
