You 2 are such friendly & relaxed guys! Nice to see you together in this video! You provide such good and useful info! You give so much special tips about food like that Malasada burger that I never knew, even as a flight attendant for 30 years from The Netherlands and having been many times to California, this was new to me! To see California through your eyes is so much more fun AND these useful tips save you disappointments and time! Thank you for all these tips! 🌷
I first lived there in 1978...as close to heaven as a kid could see. Five more years and I will return to retire in the city I fell in love with... there's no greater place to be! #HB4ever!
OMG!!! I had warm Malasadas on the Big Island and had been looking for them for years! I was just in HB and no idea they were there!! Now I know! Thanks, Josh!! I learn something new about Cali everytime I watch your videos!! Hope Amy and the twins are well!😀
Hi Dana -- if you really like Malasadas then you should really try Paderia Bakehouse, locations in Irvine and Fountain Valley -- they specialize in Malasadas and Portuguese egg tarts!
Loved the collab - you guys played well off each other! I've just recently discovered your channels Josh but have been watching Chris for a while, so it was really fun to watch you guys explore and share info together. Hope you will do it again soon!!
Surf was fun this morning and afternoon on Northside of the Pier.....I also bought one of those Guava filled donuts at the Donuttery a month ago...Not bad... ..🌊🏄🍩🔥💪👊
I really love watching all the birds at the Bolsa chica wetlands! I also gotta check out that donut place. I highly suggest visiting Monster Muffins! Great video! 😎
Awesome. I thought about heading there recently, but Laguna was calling 😊. Zoltar is everywhere it seems! This reminded me of Dana point but much bigger. So fun to see Chris with you. He is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic (not that you aren’t haha)
Thanks Magellan and Greyhound! I really wonder how many people actually get Zoltar to tell them their fortune... must be enough to keep them there and plugged in :)
I am an admitted Doughnut Snob and lived OC for over 50 years. In that time I've experienced the waning of truly good doughnuts. Today there's only one good shop and that's K D's Donuts in the Raph shopping center on Portola Parkway between Alton and Bake. I had to move out of state several years ago and whenever I have friends or family from the area coming to visit I ask them to go to KD's and bring me a box of my favorites.
Bolsa Chica, the best kept secret along HB's beach, free parking and no noise. Only the few wetlands in SoCal unless you go to Morro Bay... I go to BC whenever I'm in town and also to that Pete's Coffee at the Bella Terra. BTW: I avoid the modern HB pier area along PCH after they demolished the old buildings in late 80s....
Hey Josh. This just popped up on my you tube feed. I am so doing this close to exactly how you did it. Maybe on St. Patricks day!! One of my best friends moved to Orange County and we used to go to Huntington when we were in high school. Which was a while ago. I think I'll clone your day here and do almost all the same things. My wife and kid like boba so the tea place looked fun. Also my wife and I are doing as much hiking as we can these days so I think we will check out the bolsa chica reserve which we have never done. Have a great weekend and thanks again for the video!
What! I had to do a double take at the video thumbnail. One of my nerdy aspirations when I'm old is to metal detect beaches like Huntington and use the money to like...buy those donuts.
We love the donuttery that is the best donuts and there's another one too called B&B Donuts in Fullerton California absolutely heavenly. Nice to see you in our stomping ground of Huntington Beach where we lived. That place is so busy during the week just like it was busy when you went in there it's the most popular one in that area. We enjoy you and your father on the road keep them coming.
So glad you liked the video and I will check out that donut shop in Fullerton! More adventures with my dad coming up on my other channel from our time in New England for fall colors!
I loved being there last month, if you are on main street do go to the four sons brewing, great little beer place. Surprised how cheap on street parking was of a night compared to the car parks
Before clicking the video, I read "surfing" in the title. I honestly thought Josh was gonna surf haha. Still an awesome video as always. But Josh, you should try it lol.
Their Maple bacon bar is da bomb! Great to see your perspective on HB. Next time get to Shipley’s nature center in Central Park. It’s an amazing place in a city of 200k people. Love your content!
Thank you for this beautiful video full of useful and good information! It can save you a lot of time and disappointment to have the right and accurate info! It is so nice to see California through your eyes Josh as a Dutch flight attendant for 30 years I have been to many diners etc. but to know for instance good donuts and fresh fish places it is better to know this from you! And the collaboration with Chris I loved! Nice to see that there is no competition, but ollaboration and I love it to see 2 guys having fun together filming this video! Thank you Josh for all your information and I am a new Dutch fan! By the way you have a beautiful voice especially when you do the voice over!
ComeBuy still exists in Southern California? I'm so envious! It was around other places, but other than Taiwan and So-Cal they all closed. I have fond memories of that place.
Gosh, nice to see HB again. In my teens I was down there almost weekly to surf. Last time I surfed down there: 1976. 😳 Jack's Surf Shop was a regular stop for surfboard wax. Boy, has THAT and the surrounding areas changed over the years! Nice tour, thanks for the walk down Memory Lane!
I’ve never really explored Huntington Beach yet. I’m more familiar with Torrance and seal beach. Which I really love those towns for different reasons. Snd long beach to an extent. When I’m down near Torrance I always get my Japanese food fix. I will have to check out Huntington Beach as well. Thanks for posting
OMG I’m looking for another cat riding a bike pin wheel to replace the one I have! Looked all over Northern California beach cities and even San Diego… now I know where to find one from this video. And I love guava desserts so definitely going to the doughnut shop.
