The main plots of this series is more accurate than ertugurul and osman
@@Sandra-1wiq that's just not how ottoman woman dressed. Especially the sleeves (it's France style, idk from which era tho). You can watch ertugrul for comparison. They're more accurate in term of costume.
The nice thing was that the dressmakers were assigning fabrics for each character in order to match not only to enhance the characteristics of the actor, but to show the status too 😊 and while people may argue about the accuracy or lack of thereof, it was a conscious choice that was justified!
Evidently. It looked a bit Westernized (I researched 16th century attire and tbh, neither Europeans nor Ottomans dressed like this) and rather new for the period. Ah well. I wish we had more historically accurate costumings. I mean Roxelana/Hurrem even had a painting by Titian.
I had the same reaction (especially since Leo's diary reads a lot more like a one sided affection out of context) until I remembered that the harem women were expected to have no contact with other men in the harem for just this reason. Still, though, the drama of this reaction is so overblown it's crazy.

I cannot understand how anyone could perceive Hurrem as hateful or evil. In this series, she does any and everything to survive. Frankly, the experiences that fictional Hurrem goes through are so overwhelming that I'm surprised she isn't bitter and hateful like Mahidervran.

Evil or not, one thing for sure about Hurrem...is that she loves Sulaiman more than anybody does and she'd nvr ever betray Sulaiman. She might be a witch, but her pure love for Sulaiman can defeat everything. Sulaiman himself validates this
She wasn't a witch she just learnt how to fight back to save her own life. If she didn't she would of died years ago. Well according to this drama in real life most of this drama didn't happen.
She wasnt a witch if anything she was a lot better then a lot of the scheming woman in his harem. In these kind of environments you had to always be looking over your shoulder. It was either kill or be killed. All of them wanted there sons to be the next sultan so everybody was scheming
I think a lot could’ve been avoided if Hurrem would’ve told Suleiman about Leo when she first saw him there. He was from her village, from her past. She had nothing to do with him now. She could’ve even requested that Leo not continue to come to the palace (to avoid any issues ). I think Suleiman would’ve understood and appreciated her honesty.
I don't know why Valide hated Hurrem so much whereas Hurrem tried everything to please her. she only understood everything after sutlan suleyman became sick and saw mahidevran's true face but it was very late cuz she died after that
The last episode available in the US was when Ibrahim tried to betray her and Leo and was attempting to make them poison themselves. As much as I love this scene, I can't get over the amount hypocrisy in this scene. Suleyman slept and had romantic contact with other women while he was married to Hurrem. No one saw anything wrong with it, not even the sultan himself. But here when there were rumors of leo and hurrem in a relationship everyone was ready to attack hurrem, and if hurrem actually had a relationship with leo secretly. Im sure suleyman would have executed both of them.

What I dont understand is Leo is from Hurrem's past, not future. Leo knew her before she entered the harem. Why is that a huge issue or problem?
