She i don’t think she would’ve been able to even if she wanted to tbh. Bali Bey didn’t feel the same about her and she was a princess. Her marriage was mostly political in nature, such is the curse of dynasty members.

Mariaham asked Hurrem if she was going to keep her promise of letting her get married with who she fell in love with. So she called Bali Bey to talk to him, not before hiding Mariaham in a room where she could hear when she asked him if he loved Mariaham and he said he didn't because he always saw her like a little girl. So when he left the room she came out and Hurrem told her see did you hear what he said? So she got furious and went to tell Suleiman her father she would marry Rustem and that's why she married him and not Bali Bay.

We don't really know how was Mihrimah's relation with Rustom pasha. Don't believe on everything that is shown in Magnificent century. Princess's were married off to Pashas. It wasn't a rule but it was something that was normally followed.

Hurrem would marry her with Bali bey, but he didn’t love her. He loved his Armin. He was ready to break the sky and go to hell to be with her! But he never did something to be with Mihrimah. Rustem loved Mihrimah; he cared about her. It was a meaningful reason for Hurrem. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have married them. Mihrimah did not love Bali bey too. She felt excited and attracted to Bali bey, the doctor, and Mustafa’s soldier. Bali bey ignored her, so she thought she wanted to own him. Indeed, she has never loved someone.

If he loved her, Hurrem married them. Bali Bey loved Armin. So there was no sense in it. At least Rustem loved her. Watch the next season Kosem, when Sultana married a man who didn’t love her, it was going badly. He loved another woman. He could not make the marriage happy.
