Wayne, I did not have a mild withdrawal. I had a major withdrawal!! Gilbert showed community, strength, and resilience of a nation. It also showed we have the tanicy to withstand trials; to share and take care of each other. It also showed how other nation cared for us and how gratitude is given. We are out of many one people.

The spirit of community is definitely what I remember the most about Ivan in Jamaica. Men rescued neighbors from their homes in the middle of the night, neighbors housed each other to ride out the storm, and the community shared water and resources during the aftermath. A house fire was accidentally ignited by a child with candle one day, and some neighbors shared their last bucket of water to out it. Sending love and protection to everyone affected by Beryl. 💛

Thanks Universe we have come through reasonably well. Praying for St. Elizabeth and ALL other affected parts of our beloved island. The government is doing a great job getting everyone ready for the hurricane please take precaution pleasedo what the government said to stay home stay off the road get some food and your flashlight and battery in case the power went out. I remember Gilbert. My grandparents house was well built thank God for that. But some of our neighbors wasn't so fortunate..... One of our neighbors house was picked up and put into the street. In St. Mary in the 80s we were use to still using bathroom outside (out house) or chimmey and using oil lamps. It was bad but everyone survived. May Jah Bless our sweet Island of Jamaica and carry everyone through it all.

Morning Mitchell family. I have been waiting anxiously and with a bit of anxiety for you guys to post. Honestly despite all the previous hurricanes and storms that have hit Jamaica before this one cis the first one that seriously concerns me. I’ve been watching what has happened on other islands and I will say that from what I’ve seen you guys have chosen a good roof material in the tin roofing. Looking at the vids for Grenada anything with zinc is gone a little of the cement has either collapsed in or crumbled under the pressure but most of the zinc roofs have been either minor or stayed intact. I love the room by the way the only thing that concerns me is the sliding glass door in the bedroom. I think putting on masking tape would be a good idea but that’s just a thought on safety. Will be praying for all to be safe and sound and my mom just got back from her house in Treylani. Once again prayers for Gods grace on you and everyone there. Will hope to see you again soon.

Stay safe to you guys, your family and yes agreed its all about community. From Guam 🙏(We had Typhoon Mawar one year ago, and yes we had no water or power for many months. A year later we are still recovering, but yes many of us lived out of our cars for months, if we were lucky to not have damage to them). Wishing you all the best of luck! And that the thing as you mentioned, its the aftermath that is the hardest once a big one hits. I hope you all fair well, from one island to another 🙏🌀🌴 If it's bad one tip to save documents and photos is putting them in plastic totes up and use silicone packets inside them. That helped save many things for me and kept mold from 1/3 of my property.
