Let me get this straight....Jon Rua can dance, act, and sing ALL AMAZINGLY?!?! I’m sure there’s so much more he can do but damn, it’s insane how one man has so much talent. He needs so much more recognition
I never particularly liked Hurricane as a song before I saw this cover and realised how beautiful it (and Jon's voice!) is, I guess that's just the power of Jon Rua! 💛✨
Hurricane is genuinely emotional, gorgeous, and well written. But when you only hear Lin sing it it falls flat because, and I say this as someone who doesn't hate him, LMM genuinely cannot sing, especially good enough for a song like this
So- our of all of the ensemble members from the original cast: Jon Rua decided that he can bless us with this cover- and his dancing! I’m really happy so like- thank god I found this. Thanks for making me smile one day at a time :)
IM IN A HURRICANE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Totally captivating. Such raw talent and emotion together. You're the most powerful performer I've ever seen--your combination of physicality and musicality and love just leave me breathless.
I'm a get a sholarship to king's college, i prob'ly shouldn't brag but dag i amaze and astonish, the problem is i got a lot of brains but no polish, i gotta hollar just to be heard with every word, i drop knowledge. I'm a diamond in the ruff, a shiny peice of coal trynna reach my goal, my power of speech unimpeachable.
I will say this once (many times if you see me on twitter): WHAT?! This is freaking amazing. Your voice is like butter and I’m extremely in love with it.
Chills! What a gorgeous voice!! I makes me love the song in a way that I did not before. Paid more attention to the lyrics also. You are so multi talented!!
My favorite song. It really is about OCD to me. Hamilton clearly was suffering from Pure O. Not having control on his life triggered the onset OCD in his childhood due to the stress. Usually your worst triggers are things that you had to worry about as a child in his case the death of his mother and poverty lead to his two most frequent obsessions "I imagine death so much it feels more like a memory" (Ruminating about death like many OCD patients like Woody Allen do) and "What is the country goes backrupt" which shows how not having control over things he chose writing and finance as his "Ordradek". "My mother died when she was holding me" things were clearly out of this kid's control. BUT "I wrote my way out" the justifications every OCD patients tell themself thinking their OCD is actually their savior and the reason why they are so successful. At this point, his obsession with writing is not as heroic as it used to be for him. Although the song sounds epic as fuck, as if he is doing something great, it is actually dramatic Irony for an OCD patient going mad. Ruminating about a non existent threat of "What if they tell people of the Reynolds situation" so he did what every OCD person would have done. "Overwhelmed them with honesty" thinking it's the only way he can protect his legacy. Beautiful song....
