I was at work when the storm was upon us again. My bosses wanted us to stay but i said no and made my employees leave fpr safetey despite what i was oredered to do. My employees got out safe thank god. But my car and i were stranded alone at my store. My family saved me in a truck barely. But i wasnt drowned or stuck in the water all alone but im greatful that they got me out. Sometimes you have to ignore bad orders to do what matters. I saved a pregnant employee and many others at the cost of my own and against the choices of my employers at that crucial time of need. And i will always be glad i put them above my psosition as a manager. I couldnt live knowing i did wrong. So i told em go now eff what they say. Go now before you cant make it home before these waters rise. They got out. And i wouldnt have if for a fluke thinking i lost my car keys. If i hadnt called fpr help thinking that....god only knows they came in a truck and my car was not gonna make it in the water it rose by feet by the second. We have never seen anything like it.....it happended faster and faster.... i was scared too. . Just goes to show everything happens for a reason...im gkad i wasnt stuck like that by the grace of god. It really was scary. But in all that... they wanted me to stay an hour later

God bless those people, and the souls other ones that have gone home to heaven. So many people are coming together and are helping. Other problems is the shortage of gas. Or they just marking up the price and there not a shortage yet, in some areas. But the gas stations started jacking up the prices there and in other surrounding states. And price gouging the $99 for a case of water. Thanks just evil. People should be put on social media. Expose the companies that are taking advantage of those that are suffering. Also people need to be careful about were they donating money. Look at want happen after Katrina. There are still people displaced and who never did get their homes rebuilt some of the poorest areas are still not rebuilt years later.
James Ricker...Do you live in that area? I am very interested in finding out if the insurance companies honor their claims. Because we are forced by law to pay these insurance companies, and if the insurance companies are not paying out, then legislation needs to be changed.
Lovely Seaflower, unfortunately a lot of the people did not have flood insurance. But hopefully through FEMA and the Red Cross they will get some relief.
I was wondering the same thing. This is September 2018 & haven't heard anything about this since it happened. The media will cover these hurricanes right before the storm, during & right after but that's where it stops. Where are these people now, did they rebuild or move away??
In Houston Texas I can plainly see that the governor and the senator wasn't ready for this tragedy asked to do more then declare an emergency has to do more then ask FEMA for help well I'm glad I never voted in Texas
The military needs the help because the senator and governor apparently doesn't know how to do that what's wrong in life what happened to all the money from Lotto funds I wonder if the governor and senator understands crimes from nature this is just too much suffering for the United States military to have to deal with I'm not the only one disappointed in Governors and senators embarrassment
