Wow. I lived through the hurricanes in 2005 Bonnie Charlie Francis and Ivan. My house went under 2 ft of water very quickly I know how fast it can happen. This is very scary I hope the people do evacuate that need to and bring their pets as well with them. This is a monster of a storm.

I don't know why people live in FL, I was very interested in buying some property there till I tried to find INs. for them, G" Luck trying to find any, most of the companies are gone, or you're paying megabucks for something you may or may not ever use, My brothers lived right on the beach, and had a few run-ins with them, but didn't do any damage, I wouldn't want to live out there, especially the last hurricane that hit FL, I heard of these fools sticking around and calling them Hurricane parties, what's fun in that?

I have lived in AL all my life, 67 years. This is why so many people in AL wont live at or own a vacation home on the coast. So many of us have seen it first hand for decades. Most that buy homes on the coast are from other states and they have them long enough to tire of the costs then sell them to another person that has not experienced the real "coastal living" as represented by realtors.

The solution is that most of those houses are on stilts/piers. They park their cars underneath, and that property is what ultimately receives flood damage. However, 130mph winds is what will destroy these homes, not the waters.
