That is true, I don’t even remember who won but I remember him trying to choke slam both HHH and Austin, and it was the funniest thing ever.

Hurricane Helms is so humble. He appeared in a small wrestling show run by a small company in my country and wrestling with new comers. I was shocked to see him in that show. The listen to that heroic theme song playing. Huge respect

And it's that type of thinking and ideas that got him a producer job that he's doing great in!

Hurricane would have won and gone on to have a multi-year Hurri-reign if Steve Austin and Triple H hadn't been so scared. It took both men to eliminate him.

Better to have a moment like that than a 5-10 minute performance that nobody remembers. Maven had his too. I loved that Rumble match as a kid.

Met him before and he's a very nice and humble guy. Treats the fans right and has a lot of knowledge and love for the business. Liked him when he was part of 3-Count back in the day and still absolutely love The Hurricane gimmick.

I can't speak for anybody else, but for me, the superhero who wasn't a 7-foot giant but would run up on one and grab them by the neck and throw them around with that kind of iconic move like he was one was as over as any gimmick ever has been. I don't think he fully understands how much of an impact he had on people, in terms of oh shit, I could do this too. This guy's fearless. He doesn't care how big, physically or otherwise, the other guy is, he's gonna run up and square up and fully intend to get them out of there. He might not have had any superpowers, but he was damn sure a superhero to me.

I like how both Austin and HHH initially sold the choke seriously, then as they were getting up, they have a realization that the man grabbing them is NOT The Undertaker or Big Show, but infact a tiny hurricane that cant even blow away your umbrella. They then both look at eachother saying "is he serious?"

Back in the early 00s Helms was one of the best talkers WWF/E had and it always seemed like they didn’t quite know what they had.
