I never thought I would see the water reach up into that parking lot. Scary stuff. Nice to see Chicks is still there. I left West Haven in 1980 and still miss it.
I could see the water from My kitchen window and was only two blocks away on Washington Ave. I would go body surfing when hurricanes like Gloria hit, and the waves would be 6-8 feet tall. The rocks and piers were not there when I was growing up, Savin Rock was all still open and I had a blast growing up in an amusement park with a miles long beach, where You could bring Your Dog onto the sandbars that were a half mile out off the shoreline.
