The meteorologists told us long before hurricane season started that it was going to be a bad season. I've lived in Florida my whole life, 52 years, and I have listened and prepared for this.
It's crazy how many CANT evacuate because they haven't the ability, there are many reasons as to why not everyone is leaving we are not voluntarily staying we just can't nothing available close enough, won't leave Thier pets or other family.... regardless why people are still in the mandated evacuation areas PLEASE JUST SEND PRAYERS,GOOD ENERGY WHATEVER YOU BELIEVE.. we need it 😭
My family is staying and the neighbors are too and they mostly wanted people with kids or are vulnerable to evacuate and right now people are on the highway and to travel 1.5 it's taking 10 hours. Also, most gas stations don't have gas right now. Also, the hurricanes always do random turns. The few times we evacuated our house, Everytime the storm turned and we ended up closer to the hurricane than if we stayed home. Evacuating a whole state is not possible.
If you need assistance to evacuate please do not hesitate to call 911. They would much rather get a call now and get you to a local shelter than get a call after the water comes in, and they can't get to you. If you need help. Don't wait. Call NOW!!!
Greatly appreciate you advising people who need to get evacuated, there are free buses to get you to shelters, and Uber drivers (free) to do the same. Every county has shelters that accept people, some will also accept pets. This is VITAL for people who are unhoused or don't have vehicles or don't drive. Please let people know. Save lives.
Prayer changes things ! Jesus calmed the sea during a storm on the ocean with the disciples and Jesus in that boat 🛶. God is Jehovah El Elohim!!! Pray against the increase and for a down fall of these levels of storm surge , destruction, and category! Jehovah El Shaddai can do exceedingly, abundant what we could ever hope for ! Omnipresent and powerful to save our his creations. He sees all and knows all !!!
Señor intercede por todas las familia especialmente la que están solos los que no tienen un hogar te misericordia de cada uno de nosotros especialmente por la paz del mundo🙏🙏🙏
Much love from Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Yall stay safe guys and wish yall the best of luck with milton. I just moved back to Myrtle Beach South Carolina from Ashville NC cause of the last hurricane. It destroyed everything. My family in Madison County North Carolina and in Greeneville Tennessee all destroyed bridges roads homes you name it gone... i come back to the beach , and here Florida about to get hit with the hulk of hurricanes... i hope you all are ok , plz stay safe brothers n sisters
There are so many people who are unprepared to take care of themselves for up to five days. This includes food and water and space blankets. It could make the difference between life and death, and it’s simple to store some items.
Native Floridian and I stay prepared year round. 3 generator's, total solar system to run freezer, fridge, lights and fans. I am in palatka and will wait until tomorrow to see where it goes. I have family in orange park if I need to go there. By the time the hurricane comes across the state, hopefully it will be a cat 1. Plenty of fuel, food, water and crank radios and flashlights/lanterns. Not concerned yet
Thank you for covering Columbia County. We seldom find ourselves included in these types of reports, and it's particularly meaningful to have this specific info for our county. Especially after Helene. Thank you so very much!
My cousin, Alex, lives in Wesley chapel, I talked to him yesterday. We are first cousins, my prayers go out to you! I've lived through many bad hurricanes. I live on Long Island, in new york. I hope you and family stay well. This storm is very dangerous.
@SandraBeberian I truly appreciate that! I'm praying for everyone and your cousin in Wesley Chapel. I just hope we all get through this safely. I lived through Andrew and all the rest here in North Florida and in South Florida. It's stressful and scary, for sure. The way we've all survived and endured these storms/catastrophes is miraculous, and I pray we all get through this and whatever else may come. 🤞🖤
Thank you for your adorable comment. I just wrote about what DeSantis is doing up on top. Ignoring the vice president of the United States, as if this is a political game. All the new stations are saying the exact same thing. That Tampa Bay will get the big hit.I hope they’re wrong of course. I don’t want it to hit anyone else. I just want the storm to split up so it can’t cause a lot of damage.
This storm is still developing momentum. It has enough time to impart energy and get a tremendous volume of water offshore in motion. The longer it is out there spinning, the more energy that is stored in the moving water. Even if the eyewall breaks up on landfall, that water is going to come in and expend energy that took days to develop, in just a few hours.
NOT “normal” hurricanes! Not “climate change”! Thank you, Gov. DeSantis. If not for FL Gov. being uber organized, there would NOT be congested streets! And the police making sure traffic flows! THIS is emergency preparedness!!!
Despite the category few meteorologists are emphasizing that wind gusts are still projected to be up to 190. That’s more than most double pane windows can sustain. A CAT3 can still give you more rain and with a direct hit to an area that floods with tropical depressions!?! I have seen downtown Tampa become impassible with a direct hit from a tropical storm so this baby is going to smack.
People literally leaving the state to run for their lives. Once they leave, storm is downgraded and the weather man starts saying things like "Some storm surges". Hard to trust the weatherman nowadays.
It would impede emergency vehicles if they did that but they are allowing you to ride on the unpaved sides of the road effectively adding another lane. Just like Irma.
Please evacuate!!! Everything is fine and dandy until the power goes out. Lived in Florida for over 40 years and I have never seen a storm like this. Something very ominous about this storm. If you are in the Tampa area, why stay?
My parents 80 +yrs old are just outside of Tampa. No available hotels anywhere and not enough gas to travel with the amount of traffic and they are afraid they will get stuck and run out of gas. They won't leave their dog either.
Can you tell me about Seffner. I live in a house. Not in a flood or evacuation area. I have a generator but I don’t know what is expected exactly for an hour inland. Please tell us.
Where I live, millibars are never part of our weather reports. Hail, floods, meters of snow, sure, but not barometer readings. Can you explain why one weather guy was choking up as he reported a 55 millibar drop in ten hours?
I lived in Florida for about 10 years. I left because of these hurricanes. The lower the millibars go and the faster they drop means the storm is very, very severe and dangerous. He got choked up because he knows these Floridians are stubborn and lots of people are not going to leave. So there are going to be many deaths. He is grieving in advance
What about the Orlando area? Have family there and I saw the mayor talking about people are going there from coasts? Is Orlando likely fine if they just stay inside?
@@justinarchiquette7591 Because the last storm headed that way? Because these storms are being steered? Because you have nothing to say? Is that good enough for you?
@@rem1762 not really, I get the confusion, it's stressful, but unless you are doing your own computer modeling and an expert in the field, you are just adding to misinformation, and diluting the messaging of people trying to keep people alive. It's not possible to control or steer anything that powerful. Fear is a powerful drug that distorts reality. There is no doubt that things could turn, or do any unexpected thing. But the thousands of people who have dedicated their lives to studying, coding, tracking events like this, have created computer models, using billions of point of data, to fairly accurately predict what will happen. So, if you have data that will change their predictions, please share it.
Humans cannot "steer" hurricanes anymore than they can prevent earthquakes or volcanic eruptions, tsunamis.... *Nature is in charge of us, not the other way around.*
"Serious" vs "Less Serious" is still Serious. Storm surge at high tide and flying debris don't care if we call it a CAT4 or CAT3. The streets are already flooding in areas, the ground is already saturated. And while it depends on the track of the storm and where you are, just note, the mayor of Tampa Bay has advised if you choose to stay make sure you use a permanent marker to write your name on your arm so they identify you later.
Something that has bugged me through all of this Ashville N.C. and a lot of other places are experiencing an unprecedented tragedy and now hurricane Milton is about to bust Florida wide open and yet there has not been a national emergency declared.Florida tomorro will b pretty much destroyed. Is that not an emergency? With the unprecedented destruction that has happened any destruction about to happen why has all of our military not been mobilized.Th powers that be can send billions of dollars to other countries to aid in destruction and death but when nature ,a force more unstoppable than any army has and is an imminent threat to an entire state our leaders who are supposed to protect and defend OUR country has not already sent in machinery and troops. They could have sent in transport planes and helicopters and transport vehicles to aid in evacuation. It should have been done when these unstoppable forces of nature were imminent.
You can research the flood map. Helene brought down a lot of trees. There are shelters available, especially helpful whether she is on her own or not. Food and generators are more helpful in shelters. I have family there and in NC so I carefully watch news. If she stays "home" have her fill every container she can in the freezer. Minimize opening fridge by using ice blocks in a cooler. Sandbags are available thru 5 today. Will be thinking of her.❤
Paradise Lost is a 17th-century epic poem by John Milton that tells the story of the fall of Adam and Eve. The poem is known for its sympathetic portrayal of Satan, and some Romantic poets have even considered Satan the hero of the story. The poem is a retelling of the Bible story, with Milton's own interpretation of the characters and plot. It follows the rebellion of Satan, the creation of the world, and the fall of Adam and Eve
I cry thinking of the shelters getting hit by Milton while just weakened from helene. Maybe still damp. God. I've lived in Idaho for 40 years, and just had a close call with a forest fire. Yet Milton is still all I can worry about.
What a weird thing to say... especially on the topic of hurricanes which aren't even close to being a leading cause of death in the state of Florida. And FL isn't close to leading the country in deaths per capita, despite our hurricanes, and despite our older and retired population. What a strange and deluded world you must live in. Haunted? I mean, sure if you're talking about the bangin' Halloween events at Universal Studios.
