After Ian, traffic was a nightmare for a year from Sarasota and points south. You are 100% correct. Get ready ... the 2nd disaster begins AFTER the storm!
It's a very sad situation. Some people will return to find out they don't have a home. With insurance companies only wanting to pay 20% of home damage, most people will end up selling pennies on the dollar. Add to that, that insurance companies don't want to insure these homes anymore. Someone who would want to buy a home here won't be able to do so because a mortgage requires an insurance. Who's going to be buying these places? Rich people and corporations. They don't need a mortgage and they can take the risk of not having insurance.
do you know how the mobile home park looked ..right near key west carwash in nokomis near the new 3 story storage center that went up by publix? i am out of town right now and not rushing back yet ...voting day is about it.
27:32 The people in NC needed our help and that’s what we do as Americans. Most in your area are not missing or stuck where rescue has to make a path to get to you. We must be compassionate because they are hurting. JS
The prep is more stressful than the Hurricane. The anxiety of not knowing the damage is far more draining. Will I be living in a tent through winter or will I just have fixable damage?
@@jimmyneutron3055 I don't feel like he's doing that. There are a lot of others you can say that about, but I don't think this channel is quite like the others. I don't know why I can't put my finger on it.
At the time of the hurricane, the real estate supply in Florida had been increasing while demand was not keeping up. Much of the demand for real estate has been dampened after 2 weather events and probably more in the future. This will probably crush the condo market that was already tanking. Many of the people who own their homes, were smug, and did not have insurance. According to a reliable realtor out of Charlotte County, there are many such owners planning to sell as is. Many of the property owners have the State funded home insurance. This will put so much stress on that system, that it will fail. It is foolish to build up a swamp. Florida is overbuilt
If anybody especially a displaced person wants to rent my place in Fort Myers for one year lease I'm willing to do so and I will not gouge. I believe we have it listed at 1900 three bedrooms.
