That seems worse than living in Tornado Alley. Usually a tornado is about a mile wide. This storm is huge by comparison. Night storms are dangerous because you can't see what is happening. Residential roofs usually can't handle winds above 80 mph or so. What a mess. I would leave just because it is a night storm. That factor alone would get me moving.
I am watching and constantly refreshing the news updates on Milton from here in England. Please stay as safe as you can, Floridians. I can do nothing from here, but I am thinking of you.
Hello New Yorkers. The eye of the storm is heading for Sarasota at 18 knots. South of heavily populated Tampa. The coastline will see flooding from the rain alone and surge of 10 feet perhaps. Tornado spotted in the SE of Florida. 5 million evacuated in good order 👌. Troops deployed. Warm Ocober ocean water is a factor. Rain and flooding. $750 day one for the motel.
So the family has enough resources for both the victims of Helene and Milton, why is it that some of the victims in the most devastated areas from Helene, has not received assistance as of today?
What do you expect people to do? If we don't love down there, our work and life does not stop up north. After 9/11, plenty of locals helped put. People can't drop everything every hurricane season. Quite honestly, unless you are in a secure high -rise, I would never choose to move there.
The wildlife has been dealing with this stuff much longer than we have. Farms, zoos, and rescues have barns or other structures to hide their animals in.
@@gatorbait9385 : 🤔 Then why did Noah have to build an Ark to save the animals? Farm structures are pretty flimsy and how do pigs, chickens get out of their cages to survive flooding?
@@pohanahawaii I cannot entertain your first point. Wildlife has been going to higher ground for days. The gopher tortoises havnt come out of their burrows in days as they prepare for waters to fill them. Birds, butterflies, bees, and dragonflies have all been missing for days. Farm buildings are not flimsy and they're build on high ground. They're stronger than the schools being used as shelters.
@@gatorbait9385 : 🌀🌊 1) Noah's Ark is in the Bible. 2) Florida is flat. Who build farm houses on hills except in imaginary drawings to sell stuff? 3) Look up pictures and videos of FACTORY FARMING. Learn something about how long mammals can breathe underwater...stucked in a cage.
Let me be the first to welcome you from your coma.....NO....there has been a massive AFFORDABLE housing shortage thanks to our corporate oligarchs for years.
Yup, just like Long Beach Island in NJ. They said they shouldn't build on it back in the 60's. You choose to build there, you can't expect people to give up their funds to help out. You save money yourself knowing what you walked into.
There have been reports of gas rationing and hoarding that prevented evacuations of many residents. People were price gouging selling 5 gallons containers of gas for $50.00. Several verified incidents of hotel reservations that were overbooked during evacuation stranding people without a place to stay. There are hundreds of vehicles on the highways reporting they are almost out of gas from the traffic. I feel sorry for people who live in Florida. Climate change is reshaping how and where people live. Be safe
..this pronounced area of thunderstorms ahead of Milton is using up Convective energy there and blocking off sunshine. Could this possibly weaken the hurricane? Any storm chasers here who could pitch in?

Where is the NC FEMA $. My friends there with damage report FEMA is nowhere to be found. What has happened to the millions that are in FEMA’s budget ? Is it being spent on illegals for-housing and medical costs?
As opposed to her opponent who would simply just move the sharpie on the map and wallah! Hurrican is gone! Look to do good and help and not to foment nastiness!
🙄 Thank Republicans for lowering EPA pollution, emission standards and thank Project 2025 for plans to break up NOAA, the people that risked their lives to bring you info on Hurricane Milton to help save lives in a antigonistic to science and knowledge Red state.
