The main character of the video is my father. He is not only an actor, but also a singer/musician. The first bit of the video I saw for the first time was a scene where he is lip syncing to the song and I thought, "Damn dad, you are getting down!" hehe Actually, he and his partner Oscar Valez performed for many years at the Jolly Roger Inn in Anaheim, CA. (80's) If you ever saw him then, you would realize he did indeed get down! Thanks for using him in this video HURT.
Seriously, this is one of the most underrated bands of the past decade. Their music is unbelievably powerful and striking. No band i have ever heard of has ever hit me in the way Hurt does. I've seen them live twice, and each concert was an experience of a lifetime. I cant wait for this new album!!!!!
I've loved this song and video for years and it's still as touching today as the first time I heard it. As we get older and our bodies begin to fail and our loved ones begin to fall, you really do end up alone. Usually not by choice. so hold those loved ones close 'cause they won't be there forever and that is a fact.
I got chills listening to this, like I always do with most if Hurts songs, no matter how many times I listen to them. They only create what makes you feel and love music, emotion, and I love em!
I stumbled upon this video a few months ago by accident and while this music genre isn't something I'd normally listen to, I freakin' LOVE this song! Such a strong and moving lyric base and touching video that gel really well with each other.
Hurt and Blue October are 2 of the most underrated bands. Deep, inspirational, makes you not only think but blasts you in the gut and in the heart songs. This song is super painful.
The levels of dedication and emotion you guys put into your songs is more than just inspiring, it is truly moving. I love you all, you've been my favorite band for years. I can't wait for The Crux!
I saw HURT at minglewood in Memphis a short time ago and they are AWESOME.The sound was incredible as i was at the stage with my daughter. They spent a great amount of time for "meet and greet" afterwards.AWESOME
I have not yet found a song by HURT that I don’t like. They’re all amazing and powerful in their own way. I found these guys a couple weeks ago and damn, the lyrics, the instrumental, it all seems so intelligently curated. Just wanted to say how great they are, they deserve more exposure, super underrated, beautiful song btw!
Keep coming back to this vid. I use to be a big time LP fan till ATS come out. Started listening to hurt more often and then became hooked after repeatingly play G2TM. NOW FAVE BAND ON EARTH.
+Michael Roy just got done taking care of mom. She had ALS/Lou Gerhigs (depending on your age one of the two will ring a bell) 14 months brother. From anxiety and tantrums after diagnosis, to needed help on little things.....to needing help on Big things and more often, walker phase, wheelchair phase,,, complete paralysis (where you do absolutely everything for them at that point) and then...hospice. If you really wanna do some "work" Take care of parents IN THE HOME. give them whats called "home hospice care" Its not only more personal and sacred when mom or dad can pass in THEIR room, with their son/daughter, dogs...you know, the family. Just thought id share a little with you, because i commend the statement you said, But this video helps remind us how lonely the end of life is for many in our modern western civilization. their is a disconnection. people don't want to be around death. people dont want to "deal with it" Well there is two kinds of people then isnt there? Those who were with mom, or dad, the entire time until they leave us, or not. you either run into the fire, or run away. Sorry for the long message but "something" came over me to tell you. Take it easy
It's o,k. everyone has their own experiences and that leads to different opinions. Most the time nobody is right or wrong they just see things differently, death is very uncomfortable to be around but even if you avoid being around it you still feel the empty absense. as difficult as it is to be there it is the easier way out to me. i can live with the fact that i went through hell caring much better than i can live with that i abandoned. After all, the dead don't suffer. The living do and selfishly I can't live with THAT.
Been listening to you guys since the beginning and have had a huge impact on my life, especially with the loss of my best friend and Vol 2 really saved my life. I'm so you've had to endure so much "Hurt" but I hope y'all keep making music. Your fans love you!!!!!!
So thankful for their new album, i think its what i've been needing to get me through some hard times, because listening to Hurt defiantly makes me smile.
Yes Very Powerful Video.and it definitely Ducks Me Up. I keep seeing this over & over in my mind thinking is this all I have forward to look for????? Damn!!!!!
Kurt Vorhis If you only look forward then yes but it shows he was happier when he looked back at what he lost and it's only when he came to terms with why he ended up where he did that he could be at peace again.
damn, hurt is an amazing band. i bought this album before even hearing a song on it. bought the album out of pure trust. a band from my home state of virginia. they've amazed me so far. now that i see this....i love this song. had no idea it was a single. i could go on and on....
I know it's a lot to ask for, but I really wish HURT would do a European/UK tour. I'm such a huge fan of this band, have supported them rigorously since Vol.I. I just wish to see them live at least once before I end up like this old man.
I am so stoked for The Crux... These next 10 days are going to crawl in anticipation. If the album is even a fraction as good as this song, it's going to be absolutely epic. Haven't been disappointed by HURT yet, be it Vol I, Vol II, Goodbye to the Machine or Consumation.
Made me cry like a baby. I was in a huge fight with my girlfriend and future wife for over 3 hours on the phone while over 3000 miles apart at like 2 in the morning. We were both crying, yelling, and screaming over anything and everything. We came so close to ending us so many times and we've never been anywhere near that before. I've never been so scared or upset ever. She means more to me than anything, and I can't bear the thought of ever losing her and this hit me so hard this morning.
I can relate to the lyrics and the video, though I'm not an old man. There's something about this music video that breaks my heart. It brings tears to my eyes. Still can't stop watching it. Very disturbing, very touching. It's cruel and beautiful at the same time, (just like life is). The death of a baby can definitely damage any relationship. I'm glad this video shows that. Hurt never ceases to amaze me. It is simply amazing! I dedicate this song/video to my ex-wife. This is how we end up alone.
I went and saw you guys when touring on your first album and you guys gave me a pick and signed my old old school id and I love your guys music still...only band ive ever liked every song on the album Volume 1 which still stands the test of time for me.
this guys are simply amazing. they leave me stunned everytime i listen to them. it just shocks me that they are still not popular they are better then the majority out there that people consider music!
Finally a video, release date and tours, it has been way too long. This is one of the most under rated bands and most profound I have ever listened to. I can't wait until May 1st.
What a great video. Perfect for the tone of the song. A lot of pain in the lyrics and vocals. It makes me sad even though I can hardly connect with the character
No way! Their name is perfect! I would die if they changed their name. ^_^ it's what makes them. Also, I need and will one day meet J. Loren Wince. Nothing is impossible. :) I'm not just a big fan, I'm a survivor.
