You obviously can't count on being a perfect person before entering a relationship. That's impossible and like they said, marriage/a serious relationship has a way of exposing flaws and weaknesses in you. But I think it's really helpful to wait to enter a serious relationship until you feel like you're truly okay with being single. You can be looking - I want to be married eventually so I knew that would require some dating first - but at the time my boyfriend and I got together, I had feelings for him but I also felt like I trusted myself enough that it wouldn't break me if we never got together. So even entering a relationship in a period of mild depression I also really knew I wasn't dating him hoping he'd fix anything for me, I was dating him to share all my best strengths with him and grow as the person I already knew I was. That rambled on quite long but this video has given me a lot of feels.
