The ending where Alphaeus calls Matthew “son,” is beautiful. Because last we heard, Alphaeus told him he has no son. Being accepted by your parents is so deep. ❤
Judas gets a lot of flak about the betrayal but it has to happen to fulfill the prophecy. Also, Simon (Peter) when Jesus was arrested denied him 3 times. It’s like betraying your friendship 3 times. It’s gonna be so hard watching these scenes in the upcoming seasons. And I love your take on the “are you ready to do hard things” double meaning for Judas. Great reaction as always!😊
The difference between what Simon did and what Judas did was that Simon realized what he did and asked for forgiveness and moved forward, doing GODS work and Judas fully realizing what he did instead of asking for forgiveness he gave in to the despair and took his own life
@@eriphil2017 Absolutely brother and sister... I am very glad to be in your family, Jesus is AMAZING, and your work to cover His message (by reviewing this series) is uplifting to more people than you may ever know.
The fear of a family name dying out is a big deal in the period. There are sections of Leviticus dedicated to keeping family names alive and not dying out.
@@PhilipManzano definitely not, just a reminder and a little perspective for the sister. You are also right that we are watching knowing the end of the story.
What is really sad/amazing is that supposedly all of the disciples (except John) were martyred. And some died in the most Horrible way! Burned to death, skinned alive, 2 were crucified.... However, the fact that they NEVER Changed the story (The TRUTH) even in the threat and commission of death....
Greetings! Once again, I loved you all's insight regarding the character's and reaction to this episode. Can't wait for you all to see the next episode. IT IS SO POWERFUL to me and I'm very eager to hear your insights on forgiveness and being healed (I'll just leave it at that because I don't want to spoil anything, lol). I think Big John was slightly jealous too Philip because he was probably expecting to enjoy his mother's cooking and family time with his brother John alone. Hope you two have a blessed week:)
Another awesome reaction! I am so glad that you guys are reacting to this series and Abbott Elementary, I hope the reactions for both keep going! Phillip you’re right there is a Bible verse(and many others) about it being difficult, John 16:33 is the one you started quoting, one of my faves. Love hearing both of your takes on Jesus question of Judas, I think it’s both sides of it. Following Jesus is hard period, like was stated, what he calls us to do is upside down compared to what we want to do and what the world does. Based on what Judas expects of Jesus in being the Messiah, it will be hard. We know that eventually Judas isn’t willing to make those hard changes & let go of expectations. Leading to him having to do a difficult thing, that didn’t hit for him until afterwards, in betraying Jesus. And you guys are right Jesus definitely knew, in John 6:70 he says he chose the 12 but literally says one of them is a devil, aka Judas 👀 lol.
Here’s a excellent video of the Actor that played Zebedee below I’d definitely recommend you guys to watch whether it be as a special reaction or just on your own time ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qs5dy7nRbsI.html Also it sure is rough waiting a week between your Chosen reaction
I wanted tell the two of you, I have seen other site like yours where people watch an episode and then comment on what they’re watching. I enjoy you both Very much, the main difference that caused me not to enjoy them as much is that they talk during the scene and don’t allow you to hear what is going on and enable you to make your own opinions. You both are great!
I don't think anyone may have picked this up, but did you notice that Judas went to Jesus and asked to join and every other disciple was called by Jesus.
Judas being portrayed as the bad guy before the betrayal just would not work for me when Jesus said one of you will betray me not one thought oh yeah its Judas instead they asked if it was them. Yes they learned he was stealing after the fact but not prior no pointy hat or mustache twirling
