My best friend and I are still close, but since they have been together and now 2 kids later, we are not aaaassss close. Now that I am seriously with someone for the last few years, he has filled that void and we can share conversation about everything. I was suprised bc I used to miss her a lot. Now we go for weeks without even messaging sometimes. Still close but the distance is ok.

I understand if you have to prepare for business meetings and you need adequate sleep, but money might be tight and you can't afford to buy business class for your spouse. It depends on the price difference and the couple's income and budget though, of course. It also depends on the relationship. I'm married and if my husband traveled a lot for work and wanted me to come with him but we couldn't afford two business class tickets, I wouldn't mind sitting in coach. But that's because I know my husband and I know how he treats me and cares for me; I wouldn't get offended because I know his intentions. This is where communication and compromise come into play in a relationship. You have to be willing to give and take. It sounds harsh out of context, but there are ways to make it up to your spouse if you're in a situation like that to make them understand you're not trying to neglect them.

I see this first class thing often. It is so bad that on one flight, the dad got upgraded and left his kids to sit in coach. He ended up getting kicked out of first on that flight. This whole thing with me in first and my woman in coach would never happy. Baby doesn't fly coach :-) I will book her a first class ticket even if she is flying somewhere alone. She deserves it.

This debate is insane. First, as someone who used to travel a lot on business, my company paid the bill for all my travel and yes that travel was in business class. If my wife and kids were to join me, I was not making enough money to cover that same cost times 3 for the rest of my family. Secondly, I would have been traveling for business purposes and arriving fresh and ready to work would be critical. I could not show up sleep deprived and unprepared for the presentations and work that needed to be done. What you should be thinking is while this man is traveling on business, he's willing to pay for his family to take a vacation without him while he is working all day. I'd like to see if you reversed the situation, how many wives are paying for their husbands.
