I love the fact that both Angel & Husk stood up to their overlords in the new episodes (Well husk tried to) the difference between how both situations went is really fascinating.
I think the biggest difference is that Allister seems to be able to actually KILL husk somehow and until now only holy arms could do that so husks fear is understandable his very EXISTENCE can end if he simply talks back to Allister. From what Allister said the process sounds incredibly slow and painful

I mean maybe the work load is still lighter than Angel's but the punishment is clearly way more severe for Husk disobeying then Angel. Also Angel atleast have free time outside work even under contract while Husk is always Al's toy

You never realize how dangerous Alastor is until you see someone push juuust the right button. You never see Alastor get pissed like this at anyone over anything. Annoyed, yes. Irritated of course. But this was anger. He is being controlled by someone and he absolutely hates it, and hates being reminded of it.
Feel like the sneering and jeering and screwing with Lucifer was part of some kinad order or plan. Someone wanted to ensure that Charlie went to heaven, and maybe reconcile the relationship. He was smiling about it afterwards. This was actaul rage.
We saw this kind of anger when Carmilla showed complete apathy towards Alastor, but Carmilla isn't someone he can bully into submission so he just keept his reaction to a quick animalistic scowl.

Being fair, Husk pulls no punches calling people out on their Sh*t. even if it's his own boss. Hell, he did it to the Princess too. Granted she's not the same as Alistor but still the point remains.
Alastor in this episode, especially when he reacts to Husk's comment, actually unnerved and scared me. It was creepy to realize that he has actual human limits, and that he isn't just gonna almost constantly be polite and phone it in in-between action sprees.
We saw more of what he can do too, he literally grew to like 30 feet tall. I’m not sure that’s something Valentino can do, or any of the Vee’s for that matter. Hell it might be an Alastor only thing since it seems like he can actually KILL sinners. He didn’t just topple overlords, they’re fucking GONE. Sinners can only die to angelic weaponry, so how Alastor can make people disappear is scary.
IIRC isn't it canon, or semi canon that Alastor was a serial killer in life? The divide between "Oh I went to hell because I gambled, and lied my whole life" and "I killed 130 people and ate their body parts" seems pretty wide in Hazbin Hotel. And even the sinner demons don't seem to realize the next level evil things like Alastor are.
It pains me to see a comment like this 😅 Have you learned nothing??? Every character here is evil, but EVERY character has good in them... THAT'S the point. Just because you havn't seen Alastor's reasons, doesn't mean he is irredeemable. You'll see that a man like him has the biggest sob story of them all.

With the way he acts, it's easy to forget exactly WHAT Alastor is. Always cheerful, seemingly finding entertainement in just about anything, even in situations he's clearly annoyed by... So whenever he drops the mask and the devil beneath shows up it's nerve-wracking. A masterfully executed "OH SHIT !" moment of the story

I saw a theory once that Alastor was into cultist stuff and made a lot of deals with woodoo demons(or whatever) while was alive since each time he uses his powers there are glyphs from woodoo. Some of them are also not full and there are marks on teeth on them(at least in the pilot) and in some of rituals you have to eat part of the drawn symbol(yeah bite the paper to get bonuses) and this is why he is so strong. So maybe these demons are the ones who own his soul. But I am not the one who made this theory and also not the one to fully understand it so no need to take seriously everything I just said
Husk is actually such a caring person and always trying to convince people to go the right direction he spoke out to warning alastor about mimzy causing trouble and being a problem later on and tried convincing angel not to take the drugs that was handed to him husk is actually such a nice person I feel like he doesn’t get enough credit 😢❤
Yeah bro didn't deserve to be in hell all he needed was a bit help to show his errors and put him back to the right path after all angels can help mortals even when on earth as seen from the cherubs but I guess for heaven or who ever is in charge judging souls and sending them to hell or heaven is too much work for him or her

he is the good influence! i believe since he started to get along with charlie and vaggie he became more mature and caring. in the pilot he was annoyed about everything ans in a bad mood ( most likely he was dealing with his defeat ). so it is true that your behaviour can be influenced by your surroundings
Husker saying Alastor is "also on a leash" has two potential meanings: A) Metaphorical- it coupd have just been a jab at how, no matter how powerfull Alastor gets, there will always be a bigger fish than him. Not to mention that he's still just a sinner in Hell B) Literal - Alastor also made some sort of deal and him helping Charlie, if under the pretense of personal entertainment, is him fulfilling his end of a bargain he might not be happy to be a part of.
You can disregard A. If it was meant for Husk to counterflow Alastor's elocution on him being bounded by their deal; then wouldn't it make sense for Alastor to just throw in another insult or a counterspeech as they do so much in the show? But no, Husk definitely jabbed a nerve; hence Alastor is absolutely tied with some bad apples - I hope it's Lilith not some other wretched demons, why? well, if it was Lilith then it'd be easy for him to break his bound to her and quite possibly, have a change of heart, a genuine one as he grows into Charlie's complexion. Tho we could see that he might actually do care for Charlie and the hotel regardless of whatever deal he made - when he made Mimsy leave out of her wrecking the place being tailed by loansharks. All for the best of Hazbin's main characters.
I LOVE how they use the perspective to keep Alastor consistently above Husk. The fact he crosses the huge distance between them in two steps as a monster before going back to normal yet there never is a change in height just shows how he is no different than the monster he truly is, after all it is merely a facade
Actually he did grow on size. Hence why it only took two steps to get to him cause he was in fact bigger which is why his knees are bent and why you hear his antlers scrapping the ceiling as he walks towards husk.

When Husk tried standing up to his Overlord and ended up triggering Alastor... my *GOD,* I will NEVER FORGET this scene. It made me truly terrified of him. And I'm a grown man. What's worse is when he tried to stand up to him, Alastor used Husk's genuinely deep fear of this Overlord's anger being directed towards him and used his control and ownership over his soul to put him down. Makes you shiver when you put yourself in Husk's shoes-or his paws.
I have NEVER seen Husk SO scared before. He’s literally fucking SHAKING. Just shows you how scary Alastor is, and he doesn’t even need to fight to probe his point. My personal idea is that the person who he supposedly has a deal with, plays a part in giving him such great power. Now it does have inconsistencies, specifically the question of: how would he manage to topple the previous overlords? It couldn’t be before he disappeared and made a deal, else he wouldn’t have such high reputation. I’m excited for the lore now :D.
I don’t think many people understand the significance of "big talk for someone who’s also on a leash" this means that someone owns Alastor’s soul. My personal theory is that it’s Lilith. Both her and Alastor have been gone for 7 years, and when Alastor comes back he IMMEDIATELY shows up at the hotel offers his help to Charlie, and it would also line up with his immense hatred of Lucifer. Why not hate the husband of the woman who owns your soul?
Not to mention that Alastor isn’t exactly the kind of guy who enjoys being on the bad side of a deal. Meaning that whatever he made the deal for must have been really important.
Also the spider vampire overlord guy mentioned that one of the rumors is that he fell into "Holy arms" and there was a card art of Lilith (almost) looking like an angel so the odds of this theory being true just heightened. Edit: Ok, I have to admit that I made an error cause what actually said is "to" holy arms. Which means the rumor states that Alistor may have killed the angel and (may) have nothing to do with his deal. Please stop @-ing me, I'd love to explain my train of thought as to why I made this misguided assumption but life is short and I have other things to do.
My bet is something from Heaven. Alastor's whole vibe has been contempt for "the burning fools down in hell" and if you view the rumors about his death to Angel Weaponry, his talk about 'not being active in hell' and how Vestial talked about him being an enimga even when he first arrived in hell i'd entirely buy he's some sort of Informant.
I doubt that Vox could beat Alastor plus he could easily get killed by him. Mentioning his own deal with Lilith or someone else will ensure that you’re screwed.
@@damainortiz It was confirmed in episode 2 by Valentino that Vox DID beat Alastor, but BARELY, most likely with both of them suffering bad wounds, an then Alastor going dark for 7 years after that. Also from the way Valentino words it, Vox fought Alastor by himself, without the other Vee's, a prideful thing to do that probably almost cost him his life, this is further hinted by that Vox isn't scared of Alastor in the slightest, he gets enraged when he learns about him instead of getting scared and the first thing he does is go to verbally combat him on a social media scale. He literally sees Alastor go into his creepy ass wendigo form and is only just pissy that he lost their media fight cause he lost his own temper and short circuited all of Pride, but he's still never scared. Not to say Vox doesn't consider Alastor a threat however, as at the Vee's meeting he's still very wary of him getting close with Charlie specifically. (As she could topple them all combined easy, including Alastor.)

@@theeconomics293 it’s an elk, it’s been confirmed multiple times that Alastor is a deer morph, not a wendigo. Deer has been shown to eat their own kind under extreme circumstances and conditions, usually going against their natural instincts, Alastor’s eating habits show this.

One of the best Alastor episodes. We see him both at his most human AND his most monstrous and the ways in which those are surprisingly connected. He’s cultivated a reputation as a nigh-inhuman force of nature beyond comprehension, but this episode very much reminded us that under the monstrous “Radio Demon” persona there’s still a human soul. This weirdly enough made me think that the show is probably going to end with Al of all people being put on the path to redemption. (Presumably at or near the end of season 2)
If they do decide to redeem him its going to take him losing EVERYTHING and having to be heavily humbled. That would be interesting to see him at rock bottom
@@roxycauldwell544 Given the knowledge that there’s someone else pulling his strings (I actually suspected from pretty early on that he had some kind of powerful benefactor represented by the living shadow that follows him around) we can guess that his power is actually more precarious than we’ve been lead to believe. Also it’s gonna be a real “oh shxt” moment when we finally see his smile fade completely. (It’s coming I can feel it in my bones) I know people are speculating that it’s Lilith who’s in charge of him, though I also allow the possibility that whoever it is has BOTH of them under their thumb.

Husk in the pilot showed absolutely no fear of Alastor, but here when he pisses him off, Husk is quivering after realizing he pushed Alastor a little too far.
Alastor was willing to just ignore Husk there. nothing he said made him care, Husk can complain all he wants. But bringing up ALastor's one shame, THAT was a BAD IDEA.
Fun fact they basically or truly cannot cause his mouth is basically sewn into that smile seen in a freeze frame in the episode where he gets a deal out of Charlie

What I find interesting is that Husk was an Overlord, but lost his status when he lost his soul to Alastor. However, it's implied that someone else may own Alastor's soul, yet he is still an Overlord. If Lilith (or whoever) actually "owns" Alastor, it begs the question: Did she _make_ him an Overlord?
I think its more you are no overload if you dont own souls so Husk lost all the souls he owned to alastor but alastor still has souls he owns so he is still an overload
@@Lavy_the_Dragy I know he manifested in Hell without them, I just wondered if Lilith was the reason he manifested with them. We still don't know what she's been up to or what powers she has, so I wouldn't yet rule out her being able to affect newly deceased sinners.
What I find haunting about Alastor is that from what I know about Hazbin's lore, when a Sinner is killed they regenerate or if theyre completely obliterated they come back to live and respawns somewhere else in hell with their bodies. But Alastor not only takes Overlords eliminates Overlords but he "Erase" them off the Map for none to find them ever again. Which means he probably has them held captive somewhere after he broadcast their screams for all of hell to hear. Apart of me really wants to see what he's done to those Overlords.
My guess is that he removed their souls from their bodies and placed them in his radio cane. Note how he ties Husk's chain around it when he is threatening him so we can assume that that cane of his holds a great deal of value to him since he takes it with him everywhere.
@@kaelkirkby9191 it's been said by Viv and co that the cane is part of him and cannot be separated from him. theoretically if one were to take away the cane Al would not be able to talk. but again, removing it is impossible since it's only a manifestation that lacks physicality without Al. What kind of ass pull are you talking about? What would be the reason for the purge if they came back after dying in hell? No dead character has been shown coming back after being killed in neither show, stop spreading misinformation
When husk started shaking at the end my heart broke 😢 because I know what it feels like being trapped by someone but because you don’t have the money or means or back up to get you free, if you ever step out of line your frozen in terror whenever they make a threat because they remind you what they can do and how horrible the consequences of your disobedience can be. Husk shaking shows he is horrified of Alastor and the hold on him is so strong he would never even attempt to find a way out.

@@elgrandefleau7359 To become an Overlord is to get tons of other people to sell their soul to you My guess is most of the overlords started a business, like Camilla with weapons dealing, then would use force and business to get a monopoly. Then bankrupt people and force them to sell their souls to get out of debts. So businesses but instead of forcing debts, they force you to give up control of your soul. Get the ball rolling with a few souls and you snowball it into several thousand, being dubbed an Overlord.

Well, husk was an overlord, and probably a powerfull one, since alastor actually choosed to keep him while he deleted lot's of other overlord, he had also showed impressive mind play and can read people like books and understand their fear, so he probably is the one that know the more about alastor in all of hell, that's probably also why alastor kept him as a slave, he has extra use even without overlord power
Between this scene and his argument with Lucifer, Alastor strikes me as a guy with a serious Inferiority Complex. Deep down, he knows that the reason he's the Radio Demon in the first place is likely due to making a deal with whoever owns his soul and he clearly resents that fact immensely so he tries to carry himself with an air of suave confidence (hence his policy of always smiling), even willing to tell the King of Hell himself "fuck you". I can't wait to learn who owns Alastor's soul.
I think it’s Lilith, Charlie stated the last time she spoke to her mom was 7 years ago and Alastor was on a 7 year hiatus prior to the events of the show. It also explain his animosity/hatred towards Lucifer since he is the husband of the woman who owns his soul.

I think it is important to remember that, despite his charming charisma and entertaining mannerisms, Alastor is one of the most feared demons in hell and that is a reputation that he earned.
Well he's feared in Pride, not hell. Stolas and the others we learn about in Hellaofaboss would total Alastor in a heartbeat, Alastor's a powerful sinner and overlord, which is below anyone of worthy note in all of hell technically. Mamon, Asmodius, or Beelzibub would wreck his shit easy.

Now, this isn’t to say Alastor isn’t strong, given that the power gap in hell’s hierarchy between sinners (who are already higher than regular hellborns like imps, hellhounds, succubi, etc. due to their immortality and sets of powers) and overlords is _massive,_ making them big shots in hell as well as highly influential in the underworld, with Alastor confirmed to be one of the stronger overlords. But that said, they are still under the royals in power, which include the Ars Goetia (ex. Stolas, Stella, Androphes, etc.), The Seven Sin (Beelzebub, Lucifer, Asmodeus, etc.) and Charlie and Lilith. Could Alastor win in a fight against him? Possibly, given that Striker, an imp hybrid, could subdue him (with help from angelic weapons). Would it be likely? No.
I felt so bad for Husk. His terrified expressions are just so good though! I love Husk's expressions so much, they're just so good looking when he isn't a sourpuss! Also I do believe it's Lilith that owns Alastor's soul, they both vanished 7 years ago, Alastor pops up out of nowhere to help Charlie and supports her ambitions immensely. Alastor also doesn't seem to be the type of guy to really care if a sinner is reeducated and is sent to heaven. He shows a lot of care and interest in Charlie thou. Maybe he really is Charlie's stepdad!
Alastor makes it clear from day one that he thinks Charlie’s dream is silly, but he wants to see it be built up and then crash and burn. And he seems to not really care about his relationship with the others except for Charlie which he puts special effort to make her feel supported by him, though it felt like he was being fake to achieve something. Going with the same type of theory it could be that whatever thing he has going on involves him having to really try to make Charlie happy and make her dream work
can we take a moment to appreciate their voice acting? especially Alastor's "lovely" sounds so good and creepy I get goose bumps. really love his voice , it fits perfectly and makes his character even more unique
I honestly can see everything husk says as true, he is a master gambler that needs to see through every poker face and read every potential opponent like a book. He knows things that people would rather he didn't.
I think there are 3 possible people that could have Alastors soul: 1.Lilith: both of them disappeared 7 years before the show began, and Alastor immediately shows to at the hotel when Charlie calls her mother. Plus, it makes sense to make a deal with the queen of hell 2. Some Voodoo God: We know much of Alastors power comes from Voodoo, so maybe he owes these voodoo beings something. Simular to Dr Facilier in the princes and the frog. 3. Roo: this ones a bit more far fetched, but Roo is basically the root of all evil. Im only really saying that she could have his soul since shes an extremely powerful character that we havent seen yet.
I mean, I think both Lilith and Alastor have something to do with Roo. But imo Roo is more likely to own Alastors soul. Somebody pointed out how Al looks like he has inferiority complex, and selling his soul to the literal emodied of evil for power is pretty believable in his case. Also, why would lilith send Al to the hotel, it makes no real sense. But Roo? She doesnt want the hotel to succeed, she gains power from sin, if sinners start,reedeming themselfs she will be weaker and weaker. I think she send Al to monitor the hotel and sabotage it when needed
We could also take the leash as being more metaphorical in Alastor case, being that he kind of operating at the whims of Charlie and seemingly the implication that Alastor has to prove his value when Lucifer shows up. Husker leash is one made from his soul, Alastor is one he put around his own neck and wont talk off.
Was about to agree, that I don’t think Alastor’s “leash” is in the same sense of Husk’s or Angel’s, but rather an obligation he needs to fill at the behest of someone else (likely Lilith), given that he doesn’t seem at all begrudging to help Charlie out.
Interestingly, in this episode, Alastor points out not once, but twice that he is the most powerful overlord in hell and that no one would dare cross him, which strikes me as oddly uncharacteristic of him. Alastor isn’t one to gloat about his power and openly threaten others with violence. He’s polite to a eerie degree and has never shown true anger towards anyone. It makes me believe he’s putting on a front and hates being reminded of the position he is (being on a leash) and has been overcompensating to hold on to his dwindling power.
Ive seen so many people saying this one line was the thing that made Alastor angry, but I really don't think that's the case. The entire conversation, Husk attempts to establish a sort of equality between the two of them, while Alastor makes it clear who is 'in control', so to speak. When Husk initially pulls him aside, Al gives him an easy out, making it clear that he has everything covered and it isn't any of Husks concern. When he still pushes, Alastor is more forward with it and presents assertively, but he doesn't take action and still attempts to leave the conversation. Husk tries to establish himself as more than Alastors "pet", which he immediately turns down, warning him to drop it. Husk's final comment proved he wasnt going to, it was just the final straw. The implication of Alastor being "on a leash" is less important than what it means to Husk and his view of him. Not only that Alastor *can* be controlled, but that Alastor's situation is the same as his, that he shouldn't be seen as a significant threat because of whatever Husk knows about him. Alastor feels that he needs to remind Husk of why he is in control and why he should be feared, which is what causes him to turn so drastically.

I reread this after replying, and I realize that I do use a lot of objective language when I'm only talking about the characters thoughts/feelings during the scene. To be clear, I did not mean to imply that either party was in the right, the point i was making was my interpretation about the characters internal or 'subtextual' reasons for saying/doing what they did and how the conflict escalated giving given both's motivations
0:14 The fact that him ripping the chain apart could mean he's got Husk's entire being in his hands is super interesting to me, and I really want to know more about how these soul deals work. And it definitely explains why Husk was suddenly so scared, because I doubt just a normal threat and a glimpse of Alastor's power could make him regret his decisions so quickly, but seeing his entire being in Alastor's hands and knowing Alastor very much could tear his soul apart right then and there is definitely horrifying.
A nice reminder that Alastor IS a serial killer Please notice how before he said "wrench" he deactivate the chain, he KNEW that Husk was terrified so he didn't need to go further with his intimidation, the guy is a menace
God I love Alastor. The character design is so good, the voice acting, right down to the radio effect they put on his voice. He's so fun to watch every time he's on screen you almost forget he's a complete psychopath until he does something like this
If you notice that Lilith and Alastor has disappeared for 7 years but the moment Charlie asks for the mum's help in the pilot episode, Alastor appears on the hotel's doorsteps. Definitely a coincidence. Won't be surprised Alastor is under Lilith's leash like what Husker mentioned, which would explain why he's not scared or intimidated by anyone, even Lucifer. So I'm guessing Lilith sent Alastor to make the hotel a success and support Charlie like a stepdad unlike Lucifer who doesn't support Charlie's endeavor. However Alastor may have other plans later.
Loved this moment. It is really nice to see Alastor use his power on one of our protagonists. Why? Because it reminds you that he is a bad guy. Not just comedic psychopath but an actual threat to the cast.
@@user-rt2gb2vd6o True. But Alastor is a serial killer who definitely deserves to be in hell. But he is treated better because he is fun to watch and is generally more "fantastic" villain. Meanwhile, Valentino is more realistic and his crimes are sexual, which usually get harsher reactions.
It’s so wild that there are people like Charlie who are literally stronger than Alastor when he is the most intimidating presence in the show so far. Literally the lovable sweet princess is somehow stronger than this monster. Poor husk literally trembling in fear if I was husk I wouldn’t even attempt to give Alastor attitude
I honestly think Alastor puts as much of his strength on the forefront as he does because he needs to remind people that, despite being relatively young for an overlord, there's a REASON that he's an overlord and that people would do well not to forget it. If this weren't an argument, then I don't know why we don't see the other overlords flaunt their power as much as Alastor does. It's like they're cemented in their positions and people recognize them so they don't have to worry about their image fading at all.

That scares the fuck out of me. Because that clearly got to Al. So that means that it is true. Someone was able to out maneuver and out smart him to the point they got his OWN soul? That is a man who talked back to the king of hell himself, he has no fear. And yet he got stuck in a soul deal? The hell? Who ever has his contract is no joke. They have to be something big.
I don’t think it’s necessary a devil too much powerful who give him that assurance to speak like that to Lucifer. Look Blitzø, he talks how he want to anybody, prince or not.
The fact that Lucifer isn't just "Reminding" Alastor of who he is confounds me, dude could literally blink him into dust, instead he puts up with him and his slander and jabs. Lucifer must definitely want to be in Charlie's good books as a dad if he'd let himself be such a pushover.
Many are saying this, but I think it's Lilith. She's the only candidate in hell we haven't seen during the exact time frame alastor left for 7 years as well. I have a feeling she's plotting something.
I love how this episode not only how powerful and much of a threat Alastor is, but also shows that's he's vulnerable in an aspect and that he has a weakness/something to hide.
You know what's funny? Alastor doesn't have any issues killing any and all that cross his path, Overlords included. Yet Vox still walks around just fine, despite being a pain in Alastor's back. Valentino even comments on how Alastor *almost* beat Vox. So he tried to do it, but failed? I am starting to believe Velvette when she said she could eat the other warlords for breakfast. The vees seem to be something else, as well.
Also consider the fact that he went around killing the most ancient and well known power houses of overlords yet still Zestial is still alive and he’s clearly been around way longer than Alastor, makes me think he couldn’t kill him if he wanted to and Alastor seems to have some level of respect for him as an overlord.
It could be argued that Al sees Vox as more of a joke than anything, as he doesn't genuinely seem bothered but rather amused at Vox's shenanigans. Further, we don't know the details to that "almost" involved in that beating. It sounds like it happened a long time ago, perhaps just before Al disappeared. Maybe... Al "almost" beat him and then vanished for *other* reasons before he could, and thus Vox rides it as a "victory."
That's probably why he left for 7 years, to get stronger so he can defeat all the overlords, Vox looked genuinely terrified when Alastor showed his true form in the end of "stayed gone", he definitely knows Alastor can defeat him now
@@Scoobydoowasacat Neah, I just think Zestial and Alastor just got along. He didn't that kill for fun, but killed those who crossed or doubted him. Zestial has respect for Alastor, so they are buddy, buddy. Also, I am not saying the Vees are the strongest of them all. Just in the upper class with Alastor.

I felt like crying during this scene. Despite Alastor owning Husk's soul, I always thought he at least treated him a bit better than, say, Valentino treats Angel. But watching this part of the episode, it revealed just how bad Alastor is in his own way. I actually forgot, for while, that Alastor is sadistic and sometimes cruel. So seeing him treat my favorite character like this kinda made me upset and angry.
It's actually possible that the reason Allistor gets so angry here is because he's not actually on a leash. Clearly, the one Husker thinks is controlling Allister is Lilith. Lilith and Lucifer haven't been together for a long time. Allister and Lilith could be very close, and Allister might have felt insulted that Husker would assume Lilith would take his soul.
@kawaiiuniverse6077 Honestly, I think Lilith and Allister are together. He's clearly helping her, and she's clearly the source of his unnatural power. I know a lot of people think Allister is asexual, but I'm not so sure. He could very well appear asexual because he's already taken. I mean, think about it. Random radio host/serial killer shows up in hell, then instantly begins an unnatural killing spree of Hell's most powerful overlords? Clearly, he got some power from a deep and ancient source. I think he showed up in Hell, and then he met Lilith. Lilith took an interest in him because of his strange moral code that he was using to decide who to kill. The two got very close, and then she gave Allister some of her power, maybe even all of it, and told him to do as he pleases. Then, seven years before the start of the series, she had to go into hiding or was going on some kind of mission. It's possible they went back to Earth. She asked Allister to come with her, and he loved her so much that he abandoned his conquest to stay with her while she schemed.
@@darthnovii Lilith divorcing Lucifer for Alastor is something I though I'd never hear lol. Technically asexual people can get into romantic relationships, they just don't feel sexual attraction.
While this scene does show that Alastor is still a very terrifying individual with a lot of power at his disposal, I also like to think that it humanizes him in some way. Before this, the only emotions we've seen out of alastor were amusment and mild annoyance, but this was the first time we've seen him truly angry. It shows that he does indeed have limits like everyone else. Husker tried to push those limits and suffered the consequences
I think Alastor actually made a deal with the roots of evil, the being that came to be when humans got the fruit of knowledge and learned how to sin. It explains how he was so powerful when he first appeared in hell and it explains his strange magic that at first reminded me of Lovecraft but now I think they are roots from the roots of evil. I also think Lilith made a similar deal with the roots of evil to try and save hell. And both she and Alister were called to their patron 7 years ago.
I’m pretty sure the whole reason Alastor hated that comment was because he loves being in control. It’s his whole thing. It’s why he doesn’t let people touch him unless he initiates the touch. He loves being in control and since someone also owns his soul that means one person is in control of him. It probably touches a nerve and he hates it.
What I find most interesting is that Husk _knows_ Alastor is at someone else's beck and call. And it seems like he knows who it is too. It's clearly related to why Alastor disappeared for seven years and it's something he's very secretive about to the point where the other Overlords thought he'd been killed during an Extermination. And yet Husk knows.
Husk probably knows due to his proximity and probable preseny and he didn't seem surprised that Alastor was alive (you know what i mean) when he was summoned to bartend at the hotel.
At first I thought he was just referring to how Charlie is forcing Alastor to play nice and only accidentally hit the nerve that his soul is owned by someone else. But after thinking about it-Husk was a gambler and an overlord and has lived under Alastor’s thumb for decades. If anyone could see through Alastor it would be him.
Taking aside the obvious, there's an another, indirect level of horror in that scene. The chains represent Husk's soul being bound to Alastor as part of their contract. The last time we saw stuff like that, it was during the scene with Valentino and Angel. It's a creepy reminder that, as entertaining as he is, Alastor is a monster.
