Nice, I'm getting the 56" chest today and I'm stoked and after watching you I am going to use the same method you did of laying it on it's back to install the casters and now have the confidence that I will be able to put the caster on and lift the bottom box back upright myself, thanks for the vid!
I have found that rather than locking all the drawers in place for either moving, or installing wheels, the easiest way to handle the big boxes is to remove the drawers which effectively eliminates more than half the weight of the box.
Don't know where you got yours, but mine arrived from Home Depot yesterday with a very deep scratch along the top up to the Husky logo, bent, scratched all the way around the damn thing. I didn't even unpack it. They are coming to pick it up on Tuesday.
Good Video. Thanks for the time lapse. Background music was low key and not distracting. You have good editing skills. I down vote folks who turn five minute videos into twenty minutes of nonsense but I subscribed from this video alone. One question: can the panel with the power connections be flipped to the other side? I have a very specific use/location for this that puts the right end against a wall.
The power strip is recessed into the toolbox itself. It would take a lot of work to switch it to the other side. My suggestion would be to mount an additional power strip on the other side, you can buy them at Lowes or Home Depot. Thanks for watching!
I would have to agree, you could probably get away with mounting some carriage bolts from the underside up through the wood top, but I've found the top to be kinda soft. I have my vise mounted to a heavy 3/8" steel welding table. Thanks for watching!
Looks good. Wouldn’t last 5 years in my shop but it looks nice. Also, the large top drawer only hold 100lbs? that’s laughable. That drawer should be at least rated to 240lbs to be actually usable.
hiv rattlesnake I didn’t have any issues with my locks. You have to make sure the key is lined up and fully seated in the lock and all the drawers are fully closed with nothing obstructing the locking mechanism. Maybe make sure the lock is lubricated with some WD40. I know it sounds like obvious stuff, but hopefully that helps!
Yes, it could fit in the bed of a pickup. It's really heavy, 442 pounds, so you would need a forklift or a creative way to unload it. The trailer just made it easier in my situation. Thanks for watching!
The Garage Vlog thanks! We got it in the truck with the help of a few guys at Home Depot. It was already assembled. Now the problem is getting it out. We’re taking it apart as much as we can and hoping some guys will respond to our help ad soon. Lol
Jake Cook Congrats on your new purchase! My top shelf was packaged in the top drawer of the toolbox. There were two versions, only the toolbox that came with the sliding pegboard included the top shelf. Hopefully you have all your parts, thanks for watching!
