Very useful video, many thanks!!! Voice is very fuzzy, please get a good external microphone like a shirt mic. Hold the camera steady on a tripod or gimbal, helps a lot.
Hi there. Great video. I have a question thats maybe a bit off topic but on the cam stack gear. There looks to be a small bent up piece of wire under the circlip, is the wire a retaining clip ??
Thank you! This video is exactly what I need today. What grease would you recommend? I cleaned away a rust colored congealed grease from the white cogs and the upper metal spiral that fit in the teeth to turn them. I don’t know what kind of grease it was or what is best to use. Do I need to grease the inside of the new cam stack piece before I replace it?
Glad to help. Grease gears, oil bearing, Any grease is better than no grease, silicon is nice. But oil will do everything you need if you have no grease.
I had seen a video of a locksmith comparing machine lubricants and the most impressive one was dry Teflon which is basically Teflon partials suspended in a kind of alcohol which evaporates quickly. I wonder if it would be as suitable in a sewing machine as it is in a lock? It’s a mystery. I stopped into a quilt shop last evening and the lady said I better ask a husqvarna dealer because all her Janomes take a special 3 part lubricant that must be mixed. I am so confused. 🤷🏻♀️ But, you obviously know what you are doing and yours is the best video on the Viking 6440. I will take your word for it on the grease and where to oil. One question, what/where is the bearing?
