Husqvarna 725AWD Lawn Mower Hit Something Hard, Will it Run Again

After hitting something very hard, this lawn mower had a broken flywheel key, blade adapter key, and broke off part of the engine mounting flange. The blade was in good shape, so my guess is something (rope, chain, wire, etc...) wrapped around the shaft and stopped it dead. The Husqvarna 725AWD is a very nice mower with 725 engine and all wheel drive, so lets see if it can run again.

Nice job. I don't know why but I find that particular type mower for sale a lot in broken condition. I always thought it was the drive that was the problem.

Get set up to work at or just below waist level. Good for back and less stress/sweat.

Lucky lucky lucky. Yeah the keyway is part of the boss. It must of hit something hard to break both keys. However good work around and she lives to cut another day. I had a Viking morning the other day and it only broke the boss lugs off so I drilled it and put 2 cheap bolts through it to line it up. look forward to the next one mate

I would bet that something wrapped around blade and crankshaft stopping it dead cold. The blade had no nicks or dents.

Tough job but it is fixed now . The belt looks like a pain to change it .

I feel compression on my briggs/stratton, but this seem to be an ignition problem, but I don't know what else to check at this point.

I have the same model mower with identical damage. Wish I'd found this video earlier. Took a while to figure out the broken flywheel key was the no-start issue. Did your JB weld motor tab hold up or end up going another route?

Awesome video buddy. I want to comment that my Husqvarna push mower is making a weird metal noise down the blade, but I can't see anything, and the blade is not chaffing with the sides of the mower. what do you think is causing that noise? please, let me know. I will appreciate it. thank you

I have the same problem and I checked everything that I saw on the different videos that would cause the problem and I did not notice anything that would cause no spark

They say, if the motor runs freely without a blade, you can actually reverse the rotation of the engine and ruin the motor

I have Husqvarna 725EX. I hit a small stump and my mower started vibrating and making loud noises right after which went away, once I engaged the blades. Mower works OK as long as blades are engaged. Otherwise it shakes and vibrates when blades are not engaged. How can I fix it? Does it mean that crankshaft is bent and I should just buy a new mower. Thank you for the answer! Btw. Great video. Oh. I broke one of the fins which seems to be made from plastic. Is it going to affect anything?

I have a Husqvarna HU 775bbc with a Briggs & Stratton 775ex Briggs and Stratton Vertical Engine 7.75TP 7/8" x 2-7/16" HF #111P02-0003-f1 engine and I'm looking to do away with that stupid BBC blade brake clutch and looking to convert to the self-propelled blade adapter direct not having the clutch and brake because Everytime I hit the grass the blade stops the belt and it's assembly is new. The adapter is new keyway isn't stripped. Everything is new even the motor. I just don't get why the blade isn't cutting. It cuts and stops I back up and it starts turning and I cut another 6 ft repeat and it's driving me nuts lol. Can you help me with finding out the blade adapter that will work the right height and shaft diameter? Thanks for your time

i spend $1,670.26 on parts and repairs seince bought it 4 years ago and now down again wich now its at a shop 12th times in the row wich is a pain and its a husqavarna 725 model same wich im selling mine and getting a big shaft driven honda with blade clutch system

@@brandonparr6345I did away with the clutch and I a piece of rubber less than 1/4 in thick between the two pieces pulley and put a hole in the middle of it and tightened it up and it's locked up. I still have the self-propelled system working too. You just have to find a nice piece of rubber mat and take the pulley off and circle it on the mat and cut it out and put a opening in it so when put it between the two pulleys it locks them up. You just have to check it now and then to make sure it doesn't get loose but just put a lock washer and torque it down. I've been using mine for a few years now like this after replacing the engine I found on the net for cheap and it's been good to me but now I need new back tires or bearings because it's skipping

@@brandonparr6345You could do a few things if you don't want to try the rubber mat between the two piece pulley because what happens is there's another pulley that pulls on the belt that flies pressure on a two-piece pulley and locks it up for the blade to turn there's a spring that hooks to that pulley system and it hooks to a cable.. Now where's the cable enters the body of the lawn mower you can on clip it and try turning it out a few turns to give it more tension it may work for a little bit but you're better off remote that clutch system and locking up that two-piece pulley system to get it direct cutting. I used a car floor mat and just cut a I think a 3-4 in circle ⭕ and put it between the pulley. Other than that I wasn't going to waste my money buying a different pulley system and it not work. The shaft is a odd ball size and some other makes and models use the same crank system but the pulley system is different than mine and the ride height is what you have to be concerned about when switching parts from other machines. I hope you can understand what I'm saying and it works out for you. I should make a video of what I did to fix my problem. These lawn mowers cost too much to just give up on them.

ALWAYS remove the spark plug lead when doing any work/diagnosing underneath the mower deck. Especially if your going to rotate any shafts. If it wasn’t broke that puppy could fire up. Don’t trust a “safety switch or grounding lead”. Add some brain matter to this process.

Hey mr safety expert I guess you didn’t see him pull the plug lead at 4:35 and he verbalized it as well. He took it off again at 21:08. Add some brain matter when being a know it all.
