I bought my Husqvarna 46 inch Kohler Courage 21 back in 2007. I still have it today and it has been a very good mower with almost 550 hours. Most major issues along the years were a result of my wrong doing. Ive learned that seasonal preventive maintenance, replacing parts as needed and watching what you are running over is key to keeping this tractor operational for years.

I have your exact mower, but I got it in 2012. It has 500 hours on it. I’ve replaced the belt once. Anything else that has happened to it is operator error. I WOUKD recommend.

That can only happen when you hit big shit with the mower lol. This guy needs to sort himself out. It’s a super easy part to replace. Just pricy. Long term fix: don’t run over giant shit with a mower. At least it saved the deck and other hardware from fucking itself right into orbit and instead just broke the one part.

Those are designed to break when you hit something (rock, log, etc of a certain mass), to protect the rest of the vehicles mowing system. It's easy to find replacement mandrels and 4 bolts hold them on. Interesting alternative pronunciation of the manufacturer there too.

My first Husqvarna last to 20 years before I gave it away running. I did break my spindle several times. Everyone is my fault. Whether it’s mowing too much grass too fast and having a ball up underneath or hitting rocks for five hours your blades look pretty beat. I hope you’re having a better time with it now I just bought a new one last year and I love it.

Cutting grass for three years before I had to replace blades. Replaced first spindle in 2015. Purchased it back in 2010. It is still going and it is 2023. Hit a rock in 2015. Replaced the spindle and still going. I love my 46 inch. Takes care of two acres of grass. Spindles are easy to replace.

well by looking at the spindle that's broken of the cutting deck ,it looks like you most likely hit something hard ,quick fix buy 2 new spindles and away you go .
@petepete6912
@petepete6912 2 года назад
You likely broke the spindle because you mowed with a flat tire so the deck was too low to the ground and either the spindle hit something or more likely, the blade hit something and snapped off the spindle. Your blade probably looks like a pretzel.

I purchased a Husqvarna YTH22V46 5 years ago from Lowes. I use it to mow 8 1/2 acres of some turf that can get 6 inches tall between mowing. It has a 22 ho Briggs & Stratton motor. Once a year I replace both the deck belt and drive belt. I change the oil and filter every 100 hours. Spark plugs also. I have only one complaint. The welds on one side of the deck broke. Took it in and had both sides of the piece welded. Just replaced both spindles after 5 years of hard labor on the mower.

My father in law bought one of these in the summer of 2020 and it immediately had starting problem. Would not start. Hauled it to the shop and learned there was warranty/recall on the camshaft that caused the compression release not to function. Took all summer to repair as it was the busy season. One year later the blades wouldn't engage. It's sitting in my shop right now ready for me to diagnosis. Would not recommend this model. Thank you Sniping Rhino!

Didn’t contact Husqvarna because I thought I had trashed it… got that done, now I have 61.5 hours and the thing will not turn over. We are currently troubleshooting the different switches. Battery is fine. We can jump the solenoid and it turns over. 🤬🤬

I have the 22 HP Husky with a 42" heavy duty welded mower deck with 3 blades. I believe the extra blade versus the 2 blade arrangement with the stamped deck takes some stress off each individual spindle. It is 9 years old and I have hit many rocks in our fields and broken and replaced many spindle due to stipped stars and changed both mower and drive belts. With almost 600 hours on it now I have gotten deck removal down pat due to the spindle replacements. That said, my tractor has larger wheels, electric blade clutch and looks to be a little heavier machine overall. I purchased it from a small business that specializes in tractors, boats, chainsaws, snowplows, etc. I believe the tractors they sell at big box stores are built to a less robust standard in order to meet a lower price point. I did pay more for my tractor, but traded in another husky that had a 52" deck which did not work over my uneven ground as it kept handing up and getting stuck.

I have a Husqvarna YTH23V48. It belonged to my brother-in-law who passed in 2012. My sister gave it to my father when his 1966 Indestructible Harvester Cub Cadet threw a rod. Every year that my father had it, the local lawn equipment company had to do some sort of repair to it to keep it operational. There were things like the engine crank case seal, the PTO Clutch, the pulleys and blade shaft mandrels, the ignition switch, and the fuse that had to be replaced. We joked that each Spring we had to pay the Husqvarna tax. My father owned it for 9 years before I inherited it. I have taken better care of it than my father but now I have to replace the crank shaft seal on the engine and the PTO clutch is going out on it. I am delaying this until the mowing season ends in this area in another month or so, and then I will tear into it myself.

Replaced the spindles once and installed greaseable spindles. Only major work was replacing carb. $67.00. Engine seal-$4.59. Spindles and pulley $135.00. Belts $34.00. and 2 new batteries. $125.00. I cut a lot of land area every 2-3 weeks. Still starts and runs great. Many of the original parts were Ariens that finally gave way. Looks like the newer Husqvarna use MTD parts that are cheapley made!

I have an LGT 2654, that has been a total nightmare. Bought it new, they covered the first 2 batteries, then a serious electrical issue, then the transmission all in the first year of owning it. Husqvarna replaced the transmission and electrical at one of their service centers (gone for almost 8 weeks). Fast forward to 2 years later when the transmission was leaking and needed to be replaced again. Husqvarna would do nothing because they could not find any of my records on the tractor, or the electric replacement or the first transmission replacement. We had numerous other issues including starting and sparking the first year. All of these were called into Husqvarna and now there is not record. I would never buy or recommend one.

I have a Husqvarna 48" welded-deck DXL riding mower. The transmission went out after five hours! Sure it was under warranty but it took 6 weeks to repair it and that was in the middle of grass cutting season (mow about every 7 days) which required me to outsource another mower on my own dime! The engine (carb) also perpetually races up and down. It has done that from time zero and regardless the quality/octane of gasoline used. Another pet peeve is that the hour meter operates when the key is 'on' and not simply when the mower is running! Never had a mower or vehicle/tractor of any kind that operated that way. If you accidentally leave the key in the 'on' position, the meter will run until the battery is depleted (let's say over night) , racking up tens and tens of false hours to mower! And there is no way to correct the misinformation. And that sucks! All-in-all, I am not super impressed with the mower.

I have a 2016 husqvarna with 2 blades. On blade is slightly ahead of the other so they can overlap. It is a good mower for me. I have replaced those spindles on both blades as bearings wore out, but it has 200 or 250 hrs.

Those spindles shear all the time,when you hit something.

Looks similar to my Ariens, but at twice the price.... save money, buy Ariens, made by Husqvarna...

So you broke a spindle assembly so that is your fault and is not a warranty issue. Stop running over large rocks or whatever you ran over. I’ve broke mine twice in 5 years. I have a lot of rocks granite on my property. My fault

That's a riding lawn mower, a lawn tractor has hydraulic hook ups.

Looks like you got a lemon. Take it back for warranty. 2 years & no follow up? Interesting?

I bought a 24v54 and when the break is disengaged there is a high pitched beeping noise coming from the rear of the mower beneath the seat. i relubed all areas i could to see if it was a pulley, but i have less that an hour on it brand new. I wasnt sure if maybe its a safety feature when the break comes off, but i havent heard anyone elses mower making the noise in videos posted. can anyone help?

A high pitched beeping sound from under the seat, usually doesn’t benefit from lube 😵‍💫

I have a Husqvarna YTA1946. Had to recharge the battery, it was dead, but couldn't get it to turn over. I'm no mechanic, but I suspect the battery needs replacing. If not that, then I don't know what else to check for. Anybody here got suggestions? Thanks!

I bought my first Husqvarna in 2005. 48". It was and is a tank. I am on my 3 engine. I then bought YTA24V48 to replace my old one. I kept the old one and continue to fix us. The new is a piece of garbage. The clutch is now squealing like crazy. It does not backup. Neither Lowes nor Husqvarna will stand behind it. I have told people at were looking a Husqvarna at Lowes not to buy it. I think I have convinced almost a dozen folks. Yup. I hate it that much. that I tell everyone, everywhere. Should have bought a John Deer.

I have seen a video where a weirdo with such a tractor mows long willows!! And nothing happens to that tractor! In my opinion, you have to know how to handle technology, it's not a donkey:))

I own YTH22v46 machine for 5 years, bought it from Lowes. Year 4th engine oil leak, year 5th hydraulic shot. I better getting new machine intead of fix it. Piece of junk machine. I would not recommend Husqvarna. I do own a Husqvarna blower and that working ok.

Legit can happen if you hit something like a stump or metal pipe there's no way it just happened, warrant denied and it's a easy fix anyway

Not sure if mine is the same model, but my husqvarna has 5.1 hours on it and when I engage the PTO the engine shuts off. One of the spindles is pretty tight. I think they just don't make good spindles.
