Husqvarna z254 500 hour review 

5 year old PSA - I have same mower but with Kawasaki motor, 5 years old, never clean it, sits in dry storage shed, battery is only thing I had to replace in 5 years and still runs and looks like new... Husqvarna are great mowers. I would prefer a fab deck though, I did bend the protective bar of a mulcher kit but the dealer fixed it up for me cheap... still super happy.

I’m planning to do a 500 hour review on my mower tomorrow! I’m at 499.9 hours. Thanks for the inspiration!

This review covered everything and then some. Unfortunately, most people commenting turned into a this is how clean my mower power point presentation. I don't want to know how this runs when you've named it, buffed and waxed it and read it a bedtime story everynight after every use. I want to see how this thing runs after mowing thru hell and back. Just bought one 2 days ago. I have put it through tough duty. I have 20 acres of heavily wooded with oaks and sweet gum trees. When I bought the property I had to have it bush hogged to get the overgrowth down to a manageable height. Then a month later realized I need to maintain it...NOW. Florida growing season starts early. I ran over a lot of material I would normally not wish on any mower. Much less a brand new one. Wow! Impressive. Mine is the fabricated deck with the kawasaki engine. Bumper ro bumper 3 year warranty mower and engine.

key to making your stuff last is how you store them. Alwasy clean them before storage. I blow mine off after every mow and wash it once a month. 3 years old my Z242 is and looks and runs like new.

I bought the Husqvarna Z254f. It is a great mower. I too had to buy a new spring for the tension arm for the drive motor. You have to grease it often. I also dealt with "AIR BUBBLES" in my transmission and the mower goes slow forward. So, I had to "purge the hydraulic fluid of the air bubbles."

Man right on for actually using the mower to it’s potential. Everyone complaining about how you take care of it are the same people if they had the money they would buy a Lamborghini and only drive 65mph. So right on for using it how it’s supposed to be!

I don't cut wet grass and I blow off my equipment when I finish with it and park them in a garage. At 15 years old, my Husqvarna Rider Looks new compared to that mower. The bottom Of my deck looks better that the top of that one. Take care of your stuff, dude...

Dam brother I have 5 acres and tons of oaks to cut around and I’m on my 4th season with my husqvarna and it looks brand new still but I keep it clean and inside

It looks like u use blower blades. Try a mulch set and you might not get so much grass on ur deck. I have the z242f it broke my deck spindle guard off when I used my mulch kit with blower blades from all the grass going though the cooling hole.

Good to know that its stil going good I got the z248f almost the same only thing anyway been useing it for comercial use have 15 or 20 yards I do regular did not want to spin to much money on one for that bit I do it atleast has a thick welded deck with cast iron spindles and all almost as good as a comercial one I just put better tires on it and added a roll bar my only main concern is the hydro gears mine has the ezt2200 in it just hit 150 hours and I changed the oil in it anyway hoping to get atleast 500 hours out of it if it breaks down I may try to put the zt 2800s or 3100s or what ever the better one's are, hopefully it will last me a while.

It is called mower crash emergency. Do you take care of your stuff. Those commerical mowers should last close to 10 years with good maintaining. I have toro timecutter 2012 with 967 hours on it and yes it is little bit worn out but still it runs and cut grass with good quality, because first things first i storage my expensive stuff in a warm garage and wash it everytime i use it. I even make a maintain by myself, because sometimes i dont trust so called professionals.

If you beat the living shit out of that thing to that degree if anyone puts regular maint into it that thing will last 80 years. :D

I have 700 hours and am on my 3rd set of blades 2nd tensioner pulley, 2nd transmission . Over all I wouldn’t recommend the mower!

Using a residential grade mower for commercial use.

Help…. I have this exact mower. Bought last yr. Only has 20 hrs. It keeps leaving a strip of grass from middle blade….Here is what I’ve done to fix: sharpened blades and moved position of blades (example: switched middle blade with a side blade) to make sure it wasn’t the blade, replaced belt, greased all points, verified blades are not upside down. No matter what I’ve done, i still end up with a partial uncut strip of grass down the middle, even when the grass isn’t that tall. Suggestions? Did you ever have this problem with this model ?

Is it 500 or 5000 hours on that machine?
