I so miss these days of racing! We have lost so much not having all the GP classes: 50cc, 80cc, 125cc, 250cc, 500cc. So many different manufacturers and more participation, more accessible Motorsports in every way, the costs, the risks, everything.....so sad it’s all gone.
Huvo engineers came to Portugal for the Casal factory to study and modify the engines of the same. Herself Mahle, whom the Casal bought the pistons and segments, participated in projects related to competition, since the Casal was a fat client (at the time casal bought something like 70 000 pistons per year).
At the end of the jears 80 I racet a 80 casal with a app frame in belgium. The machine i leased from belgian racer chris baert and was owned by mr john b's widow. The racer was ex zeelenberg and very high tech. Love to know where it is now...
Grande peça de museu!!!! Podiam voltar outra vez ao activo!!! Isso é que era... criava emprego e havia muito engenheiro a querer trabalhar para a Famel e para a Casal,,, Era mos capaz de dar uma coça as Japonesas!!! :)
The initiative for this cooperation was not from huvo but from the Casal importer in Holland who contacted Huvo and they accepted. It is totally false to say that anything was created or manufactured by Huvo..Huvo only adapted very well the Casal of engines. So I can proudly say that product is Portuguese. Sorry for my english
That thing needs some LED lighting stuck on with Velcro, so you can use it on a freeway commute! Imagine all of the ''cagers" sitting there putting up with the noise. Ha-ha. Seriously though, the lighting is so small now it would look like stickers/decals - You'd only notice it when it's lit up! I'm not suggesting you mess with the bike at all - the wires could be that flat ribbon shit they use on computers, it could be stuck to the fairing with coloured tape. Headlight? LED flashlight bulbs....
Hi Ian, If you send me your e-mail adress I send you a picture. Perhaps already a indication: the owner of the bike was John Bestebeurtje, a well known person in Holland.
