Short description of the meters I am currently using. This was a subscriber requested video . Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching . Instagram @cscrefrigerationandhvac Inquiries - cscrefrigerationandhvac@gmail.com
I have the same Fieldpiece 460 it’s amazing very tough, I also bought the UEI 50th anniversary DL489 and it’s outstanding it literally reads everything
I had that UEI square type meter until last year when it finally died. I bought that in 1996, it came in a kit which also included a Amp Volt Meter and carbon monoxide detector attachment. That was when test instrument were built good and lasted
Congratulations on the 5000 subs. Nice to see the YANKEE Kid up and running after the New Year. Hope you had a good one. Thank you for the video. Be Good kid.
Its funny how many meters and different brands we have in our trucks. All have a little something that although we upgrade, they still remain in our arsenal.
Yes, maybe try reaching out to the manufacturer. Mine always does that but it zeros out eventually after a few seconds. I broke my amp clamp, dropped it coming down a ladder, and reached out to them and they sent me two new amp clamp heads.
It might be kind of late to ask this question but I'm just finishing me first year of hvac school and have most of my tools, only thing i'm missing is a multimeter. Would the fieldpiece sc260 be good for me? Or should I look into getting some other model like sc440 or a Kleine model, UEI, Fluke? Thanks any help would be appreciated, understood if you dont reply. I like watching you channel, you're straight up honest. Keep the vids coming!
J Bergz that meter would be fine man for sure. All others you mentioned would be good as well but starting out you don’t need to spend 250$ + on a meter yet
It’s a great meter very accurate I thought the Bluetooth feature was dumb until I used it a few times to track amp draws it records the data awesome for inrush on compressors 👍
I want to buy the the SC680 Fieldpiece Multimeter but there are a lot of videos describing phantom amp readings when the wireless button is pressed. Would you still recommend I get this meter? I don’t mind the size. Size matters, lol!!!
@@Cscrefandhvac yea, I'm getting it done. We're mainly doing pm stuff so there's not as much to post lately. Hope your good to. Glad to see you posting stuff👍👍
fluke is the best meter you can buy....that's why they are so expensive...only meters i use on the job for the last 15 years...my main meter is the fluke 374-FC and my back up is the fluke T5-600....fluke also owns amprobe which is their budget brand...ton of features for half the price...i bought the amprobe AMP-310 meter for side jobs or around the house.
My problem is , I've been sort of brainwashed into thinking that only Fluke meters are to be fully trusted . I own a couple other brands though , more features for less money , but I always have to have a Fluke in my bag as a backup , or for double checking ... I hope it's just hype and I'll finally be able to fully trust other meters .
Sterling Archer Flukes are great meters and I was always told the same man . The Fluke in this vid is the first one I’ve ever had , it’s a great meter man but ....... I’ve had plenty of meters before the ones I have now that are in this vid and honestly Sterling , my old UEI is my favorite. I’d take that over anything that I’ve ever used. I’ll have the DL429 one day. It’s all a out what WORKS FOR YOU MAN . Don’t listen to other people’s bullshit. I can tell you now that 80$ UEI has been through hell and back with me. Only reason I don’t use it everyday is cuz the amp clamp broke and I didn’t buy another one for it
@@Cscrefandhvac thank you for the advice , it makes me feel better about using my Klein and Testo . Honestly , Fluke are kind of the Apple of meters , super expensive , less features , kinda fragile , no accessories unless you're willing to pay even more . For the love of God , you buy a fancy super expensive top of the line meter , and they can't even give you a magnet , or the nice retractable leads , no , you still gotta caugh up more 😡 Thanks, Chris , like I said , I very much like hearing your perspective , cheers !👍
Adan Diaz true , I just think it’s stupid for the price you pay for Fluke meters they can’t come with a magnet hahah. Meters that cost half the price come with magnets automatically. Fluke has always been based more for electricians. Maybe one day they’ll realize us hvac guys use meters more than electricians hahahaha
I would lean towards the fieldpiece but that’s just me. I had the sc260 for almost two years and it has been good. I switch between that or my ole fluke 116.
CSC Refrigeration and Hvac thanks for the insight brother. I think right now I’ll go ahead and get that Klein since I’m stuck in resi for a year. Then when I go back to commercial I’ll get that fieldpiece. Be safe and thanks.
bob geore thanks for the insight bob. I’ll get the fieldpiece when I go back to commercial best year. I been doing my homework on them and I think I’ll go ahead and get that 600 series unit. You be safe and thank you.
Rob Brown also as you do more in the trade you may want something different. A lot of us are “ tool junkies “ so we always want more and try new things hahah
