No he was never under woollim even when he was infinites vocal trainer he was under his old company and it was really unstable so he took up vocal training to earn some pay at. Idk when he became agent less, but it's had to be at least a few years I think. He signed with HOW entertainment Dawn Lee

Although his company bankrupt after he signed about one year, the contract still tied him up for eight years. He can't sign any company for those years until 2015.

In case you don't know, he's going to release an album this March (edit: album will be released in June)

Such a great voice, its a shame he does all that wierd unnatural tensing when he sings.

I don't think its a shame for him to do that tensing deep voice.. Because that is his voice charm.. Its make his voice more deep n more soulful.. Its his unique style.. If he does not do that kind of tensing, it may seem like he copy yim jae bum voice.. His voice is almost synchronize or similar to yim jae bum but because of this tensing deep way to enhance his voice more soulful n rich with emotion, it make his voice sound different and make him pop out his talented in riching his charm. For yim jae bum, his voice is deep but sweet. Every time he sing, you can hear the air sound, much more like a cracking ripe fruit that give out sweetness and that make yim jae bum unique.. Same goes to hwang chi yeul.. Tensing deep voice way make hwang chi yeul voice more rich with emotion and full of soul..

Not yet but I know there's something going between him and Son Seung Yeon. Try to watch Immortal Songs: Singing the fall, Lyricist Kim Sungon episode Seung Yeon said that they have an agreement and that Chi yeol told her to wait just for 3 years. I don't know maybe he's going to court her or something. They have that kind of understanding.
