Man I remember Tau=RC but I had to look it up for an inductor. Tau=L/R

Tau = L/(Req) = 1 uH / 2k ohm = 0.5 mSec

why not 1k ohm?

@@lmike4642 I believe it's 2k for charging the inductor, but since it only discharges through the 1k and then down the switch, it should only use 1k for the discharging time constant
