I have recently retired, after 20 years, of wearing out I-10 between Houston and Louisiana. Day after day, of watching the same boring landscape roll by. Thank you for letting me ride shotgun with you and seeing your beautiful and seasonal workspace. The commentary, the audio of the truck shifting up and down, and Google maps really enhances the experience for me. Take care and be safe driver.
Glad you're feeling better! Your videos bring back great memories of trips I've been on and give me ideas for future trips, thank you! Truckers are the life blood of this country. What you do is appreciated more than words can say. Rock on, brother!
I'm adding Highway 191 to my Bucket List. I would love to have the time to travel it, but also to stop and see the sights along the way. It was so beautiful from the cab, so I can only imagine what it looked like out the side windows. Glad to hear you have recovered and doing well again! I just want to tell you that I look forward to your videos so very much. I drove truck for only 3 yrs, but had to quit because of problems with kids needing me home all the time. I miss it so much! Now I am too old to climb back up in the truck, but OH how I wish I could!!! Your videos give me the feeling of being back on the road, even to the point that I glance to the right to check the mirrors when you change lanes. HA-HA-HA-HA!!! Thank you for letting me relive those days I truly loved "working." God Bless and Protect you!!!
I am happy I just find your channel, I am in Copenhagen (Denmark) and seeing your trips light up my memories from US and happy times. I missed traveling and your trips are my antidote 😆 Love the way you comment. Be safe and I can’t wait to be in the states again (I have to pick up my summer clothes which I left with my girlfriend (best friend-I’m not gay😂 my UK English 😂) In the meantime you got a loyal follower🥰👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
Hi Mike : sorry to hear you experienced COVID-19, glad your over it. Good to see you back on the road. Great ride, nice road, wonderful scenery. Thank you for posting. See you next trip, soon I hope. Edward
Riding Shotgun today I relived some bitter sweet memories of the last trip I took to Grand Junction so my common law husband could see his first born granddaughter. I've made the trip once since then in 2014. Not much has changed and Tom was an excellent historian on both routes aroung Flaming Gorge Reservior...thanks for the memories. Love & peace to you and your family this Christmas Eve Day 2022.
#110 Good morning, Mike. Utah is one of my favorite states as well as Michigan. I have not seen any of your travels through the state of Michigan. We have hills, The Great Lakes, but no big mountains. Lots and Lots of trees. Have a Good Thanks Giving!
My nail gun guy got it. He thought it was Lyme disease because he saw two ticks on him, until he couldn’t taste or smell. Strangely,he had an allergic reaction to red meat afterwards which is usually caused by Lyme disease. His symptoms were no worse than the common cold. Take care of yourself and be safe out there.🌲🍻 Beautiful countryside.
Hey Mike, Had dinner with my clients on Sunday, they tested positive on Wednesday, one day of sniffles and loss of taste and now everyone is back walking and still staying away from everyone. No other symptoms. Like you could have been worse. The highway doesn't care. Need to keep the worker supplied to continue to do their job. Stay safe. oh by the way i helped build a metal bldg for the electrical part of the soda plant just to the north of the teepee. Didn't ever get the chance to walk to where the trailers were.. But i remember the drive up and down that little hill and you made it look easy. Just can't stand that drive on co rd 5 every day. Too many deer. Anyway, see ya!!
Really enjoy riding shotgun with you and seeing all of the beautiful places that you've been. Thank you PS I live in Utah and have been here most of my life.
Mike, glad you are better enjoy watching your channel. I was recently diagnosed with congestive heart disease scary i can actually hear water in my lungs. If you dont mind like to ride shotgun and enjoy the scenery.
Don’t live your life in fear get out in the sun and fresh air I had a quadruple bypass In December 19 no masks or social distancing for the most part thank God I am still alive
s Shirley here: so glad to hear you are well now. I am a prayer partner for you, so when you do not post for a bit, You are definitely prayed for in that time frame. Always prayed for traveling mercy too! God has your back!!
Wife and I drove this the opposite way 1st week in August. Have driven it same direction as you few years back. I like how the layers are labeled as you drive through. Same thing on 34 down into Sheridan. Keep the greasy side down! You are correct about the temperatures.
Happy to See You Back, Mr. Mike !! Been Woundering if You got the "Flu" or Worse, Youré probably one off the Blessed peopel what I can UNDERSTAND !! But God Bless You and Keep on Giving us Youré Follower´s all Good Video´s of Youré Travlleling in the US !!!! Stay Safe and all Hope Youré Family are Safe !
I live in Vernal. It's nice to see that you had rolled through town again! I may have passed by you. I've seen your company trucks in town on many occasions. Although I've traveled that highway many times I'm still looking around for something that I've missed before. Take care and be safe!
Nice havin you back Mike! Glad you're feelin better. So far lucky here n no covid. I had the swine flu back when it went around n that was rough enough. Couldn't agree with ya more...rather be in a blizzard on any mtn pass in Co instead of LA traffic! Lol Thanks for letting us ride along. Take care.
Had something worse than flu in Feb, lasted about 5 days. Slight fever at the start along with a mild headache. Glad I quit smoking 4 years ago, what little lung space I have sure helped me through. I used an over the counter decongestant to loosen chest up. I've had pneumonia, strep throat, mumps, measles, chicken pox, and numerous colds and flu but this was the worse. Vitamin D and Zinc helps with the bug I hear. Awesome scenery, thanks for sharing the view of our beautiful country.
I always wonder who lives in these houses just off the main road in these rural western towns. Do they have jobs? Are they even occupied? Thanks for these videos. Brings back a lot of memories of my childhood growing up in the west.
Many are retired, but also many are farmers or ranchers and live in town but work out in fields nearby or not so nearby. Vernal was something of a boom town during the uranium prospecting days and between Vernal and Grand Junction is quite a lot of oil shale. Extracting it isn't very easy but it's there.
Hola Amigo..MtnManMike- Glad to see this awesome terrain! Thks for your always fascinating travels! Incredible scenery! Utah is beautiful! YOU'RE BLESSED! Covid is tough! You are too! Shotgunners will be masked up while riding with you! Thks for your video! Watch out for the big Wolly Mammoths! Always fun to ride along! Best Wishes! Peace.
Glad to know you're feeling better, though you sounded like you had a cold last video, so happy to see you back doing what you do best.such beautiful country with the jet streams in the sky.a person I know wore the mask from day one after 6 months she had the virus? I've had flu shots every year I don't think the masks help to prevent it but causes other. Issues like breathing problems. I just think it's all about control. I love the ride along one thing I noticed I never get car sick with the way you take those curves.thanks for taking the time to let me ride in your truck I miss doing that.brings back so many happy memories. Stay safe out there with everything that is going on. Still God's country. Until next time.
Howdy, howdy Mountain Man Trucker Mike. Good to see you still working. Oregon is doing lockdown in some counties. Our county has been low on cases. People coming into the state are supposed to quarantine themselves. As usual some of the rules/restrictions don’t make sense. I am glad that I and wife are retired.
I got that covid in the spring. First wave. That was terrible. I was scared to fall asleep as there was a chance to stop breathing. Don't want to remember that. God bless you all here.
A mask, worn correctly, reduces the AGPs which fall onto hard surfaces which people touch and then catch it that way. Contact with people for more than 20 minutes will seriously raise the risk of catching it. I know this as a Firefighter in the UK and get informed of the latest information. Reduce the risk by using sanitizer after shop entered and wipe down hard surfaces at home after visitors.
As per usual Mike , taking a trip with you allows us armchair folks , time to reflect, all that barren landscape that had it been closer to a township could quite easily become inhabited but now better to stay as is, wild and beautifully serene. Trust your home wasn't touched by them wild fires ?
Was wondering what happened to you was hoping you hadn't gone over the edge of a mountain. Good to have you back keep safe God bless. Lovely scenery too btw
The Scenery in this Clip is extraordinary. If anybody had told me that there was a worse Road than the Garden State Parkway Northbound Tourist Traffic to New York on a Sunday Night I would have never believed them. Then I moved to Torrance, CA. That I-405 is a Nightmare. It would take me Two, and a Half Hours to drive 32 Miles from Torrance to Northridge, work 12 hours, and Two, and a Half Hours back home. That Bridge at 36:10 is really neat.
Beautiful.... I agree Utah is beautiful. I haven't been on the 191 in Utah, only Arizona. I've heard a lot of strange stories about this road. I traveled it when it was hwy 666. I'm curious, have you ever had any strange road experiences on any of your runs? It would be great to hear your stories if you have any. Thanks,,, and Keep on trucking 👍 Safe travels 🥰
I grew up in Green River so I kinda like the drive on the west side of the gorge better. But the east side is a really nice drive as well. Use to spend weekends doing the drive around the gorge. Miss those drives.
Hey MMM....good to see your up and kicking!! Covid is no joke!! I think getting the flu shot might've kept our symptoms lower. You were saying something about predisone and something else, startedbwith a M....didnt catch the name or what it is for. My taste is barley back, smell is rough. I am done being sick!!
Thx for the ride partner. Question for you or my fellow viewers. What are those wooden structures about 40 to 50 yds off the side of the road near the end of the ride? Are those used to prevent snow drifts on the road?
Sir Mike !!!! Thanks for the ride again !!!! If you think of it ,,post a pic of your" "JEEP"" as would like to see it !!!! You gona wrap it too ??? ""KEEP IT SAFE ""!!!!
Darn it I aim to meet you when you come back to rock springs because you deliver to our neighbors. I'll wait until you get over your covid crud .That simplot mine you drove buy is in the phostoria formation where they take that phosphate and pump it in a slurry solution to rock springs production plant south of rock springs . Be safe
Hi Mike, Yes, minus 40 degrees is the same actual temperature on both Celcius and Fahrenheit. This form the basis of an easy conversion. Whichever way you want -- add 40, then multiply and divide, then subtract 40. Going from Celcius to Fahrenheit -- multiply by 9 and divide by 5. Going from Fahrenheit -- multiply by 5 and divide by 9. This is an easier conversion than the other one with adding/subtracting 32, etc. It is one formula with a variable middle section and it is easy to remember which way round that middle section is.
I've been on the road from Vernal to Flaming Gorge a few times and to Green River Wyoming on the west side of Green River but this is a nice view of going on the east side of Green River.
My daughter, who lives with us caught it tested positive, coughing all over the house, and a weekend in our small camper. My husband and I did not catch it our tests came back negative!
