This anime is peak and my fav anime, and im hype for the game and manga continue, but as someone who hasn't cared about animation most my life ,I gotta say these models arent looking too good and I hope they get eventual remodels and maybe the combat can carry
All the complaints I have heard and have myself seem pretty valid. The game looks very half-baked for its budget. The effects on supers are lackluster and don't have the impact they should. The sound mixing on all of the trailers is horrible, hits that sound weak, and lack any force or weight behind them, making everything seem below average or basic. The game looks barebones, which would be fine if we were talking about a demo release, but the game is scheduled to be released sometime between now and the end of the year if we are being realistic with game development not much can change between now and the end of the year to improve the perception of the game especially considering this game will be compared to it's predasesors and contemporaries like FighterZ, Guilty Gear, Street Fighter, even XO or whatever the league game is called. It is looking disappointing if I'm being honest, something I would expect from a 2016 or 2017 game based on what the trailers and early play footage. This is coming from someone who is a massive fan of the series following the manga through the Dark Continent Arc and the Succession War and all. It feels like when the manga came back for a bit to help capitalize the game, it started development, but when the manga went back into hiatus all interest for making this game something great was lost.
@Astraision you do have valid complaint and I do understand and have problems with some of the stuff you mention. But I think the most important thing to nail with this game is the core gameplay, and it seems that they have accomplished that task. I have friends who played it at the recent evo and said the game felt amazing. Future updates could fix problems like sound design but I don’t think they could’ve redone the entire game after release if they messed up the gameplay, especially with the budget they’re on. This game will definitely Hathor an active and vocal community so only time will tell if the devs adhere to the honest complaints and do their best to fix them with what they have.
