The first bulb (method) propagation name is Scoring. The second bulb (method) propagation name is Scooping. These methods are working for tunicate bulbs.

Just want to give a ⚠️*WARNING* ⚠️ to anyone handling Hyacinth bulbs: ‼️*SOME PEOPLE ARE ALLERGIC*‼️ I found this out the hard way 😳just by handling them in the bag the way he does. They release a dust that causes intense, crazy making, rip your skin off kind of itching 😫😭and slight rash. WEAR GLOVES! And wash your clothes right away and shower because that dust gets everywhere! 😫 Also don’t get your face close the bag/bulbs.... 😳

I am reading your comment and realizing what happened yesterday. I was looking into them, they were all different colours stacked in a box and I was choosing the ones I like. Came home and was itching like CRAZY. I realized that something was wrong but had no idea what it was. Now I am reading your comment and realizing that this is probably the case. I seriously went crazy with the itching! removed all clothes and got washed - it helped.

@@Metaio83 This is not a true allergy, but an irritation, caused by calcium oxalate crystals, the same agent that causes itching when handling Jack-in-the-pulpit plants, and many other plants use this defense mechanism as well. Doesn't make it any less painful, though, so wearing gloves and a long-sleeve shirt is a smart precaution.

Do you need to keep the bulb humid the whole period of it growing new bulbs, or you can just set it and left dry?

Can you do this with bulbs that never bloomed. I didn't know at the time they had to go tbrough a cold process and now im wondering if I can get them to bloom next year instead on just leaves. Please help.

Yes, it was perlite to keep them moist, but not too wet.

If what I saw is anything to go by, the pot didn't have the holes in the bottom pun- ched... Deleterious for any bulb plant as prevents any drainage at all. Unless he/she did the job later and it didn't show in the video...

Maria, I clearly see drainage holes on the bottom of the pot at 2:46'', also one can see the water run through during the watering episode. Undoubtedly these were man's hands handling the bulbs. I find this to be a great and very instructive video, for one who has a bit experience and pays attention to the details. Good luck with multiplying your hyacinths!

Be better video with verbal instructions. This video is more for people who have some knowledge of what you're doing and using as far as soil is concerned. Not for beginners.
