Richard _really_ becomes Poor Richard when his company makes him redundant (forces him to retire). His future years of not going to work, being at home with Hyacinth, stretch before him in endless, infinite, eternal _Hyacinth._ 😂
One of the most entertaining shows ever. Hyacinth character was absolutely the best. Her mannerisms, her faves, her remarks were simply the best. I wonder what would happen if Hyacinth and Benny Hill were to be in the same show, we would certainly die laughing.....a for ever thanks!
It's one of the few sitcoms that will keep you sane during low times, many people have turned to it for comfort because you simply can't stay glum as soon as you watch Patricia doing her stuff, it's just not possible. Her physical comedy was a masterclass .
@Love One another I discovered the show years ago in Australia! I honestly learned English with laughter and it build up my confidence at the same time.
Emmet was there at the start. My elderly parents (now gone) had the boxed set. I think I'll start binging again. "One of the most sought after postal codes" Everyone rightly loves Patricia for her complete insanity but the guy who plays Richard was perfect. Come to think all the supporting cast were great.
a lot of neighbors especially mine don't go in and out of their house that often. Richard could probably stand there for hours without anyone going in or out.
"...And then, we'll do it all over again!" Her facial expressions and body language were impeccably timed together. If you haven't seen the special Christmas episode, it is genius: Richard rings Liz and Emmet's doorbell, Liz answers and sees Richard standing there, dressed as Father Christmas. Her scream is absolutely perfect. The comedic timing of this show is unparelleled. Dame Patricia is still alive. Liz, Richard, Daisy, both Roses, and Onslow have all passed on, sadly. It was a great cast.
I have heard couples like this in the supermarket, and at the checkouts ! It’s a very odd British thing I think 😂😂😂😂 we are Greek .. never, ever would we do this 😂
So the BBC is now charging us to watch programs we paid for? Meanwhile at a time when everyone is locked up indoors they show their usual load of dross.
Pretty much yeah I imagine they do this so you can either pay for the streaming service or the DVDs and blu rays. Bottom line TV is pure crap now and has been for a long time.
I had forgotten how funny this series actually is. Especially with some alcohol under my belt. You see normally i consider marriage rather sacred. . . and not funny at all. Needless to say i'm a lifelong bachelor at 74.
Pat was hilarious ofcourse but what about Clives deliberately bad overacting of putting his arms up in the air as he pretends to realise hes forgotten something lil
