Good review. I think your pros and cons are spot on. Less than ideal location that makes it hard for me to recommend this one over all the competition.
I totally agree with you Chris, most Crystal city hotels are best for travelers about to depart or arriving from DCA(Regan National) or that are able to utelize public transport in the DC area the entirety of the trip. Otherwise if you will be needing to drive or have a vehicle go elsewhere 5-10 min drive you can save allot.
I stayed here once, I think the valet was understaffed took forever to get our car. There are garages on the street behind this hotel where you can park yourself for way cheaper too
I’ve stayed here for many years when conventions like Katsucon and Anime USA were held - they hold all kinds of conventions here. Biggest memory was being snowed in and having to stay here - very nice. I remember when the views of the airport weren’t blocked by all the buildings that are now there. Rooms are comfy but it is showing its age a bit - AC in elevator area is loud.
Hi Chris.Thanks for the room tour. The room is big, but I wished that they use the space to make the bathroom and shower larger, It looked like trying to get into the restroom on an airplane. Take care.
It looks like an OK location if you're coming to DC for a meeting at the Pentagon or one of the office buildings in that area and you want to earn Hyatt points.
they used to have sci fi conventions here many years ago, but they stopped for some reason - most sci fi conventions are out in California now, I guess that's where all the fans are now
That looks like a nice hotel. I don't see me staying there at all due to it being far away from everything, and I usually avoid hotels with valet-only parking especially at those prices.
I agree with you 100%. As a women my toiletries,hair & makeup would never work in that bathroom 🤣However, the TV looks small also. You didn't mention a resort fee. Could they be the only hotel that is just scamming you with the outrageous parking fee! I guess its really just for airline personal and ppl attending business conference's. Thx.
$45.00 / night parking?!?!?! Kind of far from the Metro. Chris, one of the items that I always look for when I travel is free parking. Have you ever stayed at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Spa? Now that is a beautiful resort.
not bad at all for a category 2 hotel. Let me ask you. If the shuttle to the airport is free, can you use the shuttle to take you to the airport on a daily basis, and then use the airport shuttle to get you into DC?
