That's because the LE version uses more energy dense lithium batteries, while the rest of their hybrids use Nickel ones. Toyota used the same trick with the Prius ECO.

Well since it has a pathetic 121 hp it should get better mileage! There’s no comparison between these two cars. The Corolla is almost undrivable. 0 to 60 in about 11 seconds..... ridiculous
@darrishawks6033
@darrishawks6033 2 года назад
@@Joepaq is that number actually correct? Seems dubious given that it would be driving on batteries until a certain speed, and batteries have no build up in torque like an engine does. I just looked it up and it’s 10.3 seconds. Huh. Either way, I don’t think that makes it undriveable, but I’m not a car nut.
@Joepaq

@@darrishawks6033 Maybe not undrivable but that is incredibly slow in this day and age. I just don’t think there’s any comparison between these two cars. Excellent review. Jeff. I love your tube video. I watched 2-3 times. I am from Vancouver, Canada and last month I just brought a brand new Toyota Corolla Hybrid with premium options which added 8 new features. Cross blind on the mirror in Canada is standard. In winter leather wrapped heating steering wheel is very comfortable. Especially when you skiing on the mountain. You hands will be cold. Thank you so much. I like Corolla more than Camry. For single people Corolla is good enough. Camry is a little bigger for me. Only one problem is roof a little too low. Come in and out need to be careful. Otherwise you can knock on your head. Thanks Jeff. Looking forward to seeing your more new videos.

I used to drive a sky blue 1993 Toyota Previa LE with a 2.4L 4 cylinder engine, 4 speed auto transmission, that had a duel moonroof on the top of the van with the captain seats you can make the seat face the opposite direction. During my time as a kid in the 90’s, sure did enjoy that van like it was a space ship, even enjoyed driving that van as an adult. My parents had that van for 26 years before it was donated. As of now, I enjoy driving the new 2020-2021 Toyota Corolla SE, sure is a pleasure to drive.

@Richard Favreau I personally recommend the current Corolla SE sedan with the 2.0L 4clyinder engine, I really like the trunk space, not only that, I do like that it’s fuel efficient, it’s always a smooth drive, even the front seats makes you feel like you’re well seated, since I stand 5ft 8in, there’s plenty of leg room in the back too. I even like that both the SE and XSE looks sporty, even has that sporty vibe. Even the Corolla hatchbacks look nice too, I like that it gives off the sporty car vibe. Thanks to your educational videos on these current and upcoming Toyota’s, it sure has helped out with my decision Choosing the 2020 Toyota Corolla SE.

AKRON OHIO. This is exactly what I am going to struggle with. I've got a 1997 Avalon. I started looking last year before the pandemic. I thought I'd want the hybrid. It's a BOAT and ugly too. I was aiming for the Camry then but all the stuff is hugely extra and expensive. So I'm thinking maybe the Corolla because my first car was a brand new 1972 red Corolla. $2500 cash with a radio out the door. This may be my last car too. The Camry is prettier but about the size of my Avalon as you noted. I thought I'd downsize. I still need to test drive anyway. Thanks again for the tours! Greatly appreciated.

Nice vid, and you can hold a tune, too, Jeff. Of course, if you're trying to get great fuel efficiency, you won't be roaring from Zero to Sixty too often. That will kill your efficiency. Went with the 2020 RAV 4 XSE Hybrid myself and getting between 40-42 mph pretty regularly. Very impressed with the vehicle. Wasn't interested in full electric version as I drive into remote areas often and can't risk not being able to charge the car or having to line up behind others. The gas/electric mix best (for me, anyway).

I'd buy the Corolla Hybrid if they put the AWD-e system found in some of the Prius variants into it. According to Toyota engineers it wouldn't be hard to do considering the Prius and Corolla hybrid are built off the same TNGA platform. However until then I won't consider getting one. Ik you can drive pretty dang well with 2WD in the snow if you have snow tires and know how to drive. Sadly the issue has nothing to do with that, rather a road I regularly drive on has a sign that is active most of the winter that says AWD/4WD with snow tires or 2WD with chains required. Anyone who has used chains knows chains suck. Also I'm not a fan of FWD so if I'm buying a car built off a FWD platform it better have AWD.

Other than the higher price, the Camry looks to be better overall, and the LE hybrid gets almost as good gas mileage. It is bigger, probably more comfortable, arguably looks classier, and probably accelerates better. They currently have some decent looking lease deals on the Toyota hybrids. The Corolla Hybrid and Prius Prime look to have the best deals, but the Camry hybrid is also priced aggressively. Not sure if the car shortage will affect things once at the dealer…

The smaller engine has to pull less weight...the speed should not be that much different... they should make a test with both vehicles fully loaded... Fuel milage and power could go here in favor of the Camry... not having rear vents in the "bigger" car (Camry) is not forgivable... after all the size difference is not like the difference between the Jetta and Passat... and therefore negligible... I don't understand why in New Zealand the Camry is listed as 4.5litre per 100km and the Corrolla 3.5l per 100km when in the USA they are both 52mpg. Can you shed some light on this please? I'm having a really difficult time between choosing a brand new Corrolla and an immaculate used Camry with 36000km for the same price. Which one would you buy?

This is so basic compared to the base trim Camry hybrid in Ireland 🇮🇪 (only available as a hybrid in Europe).. the base trim in Ireland is called a 'Sol'.. fabric and leather is standard, you can choose at no extra cost and you get the full drivers information display like on the XLE and XSE trim in America, it also has the 9" infotainment display as standard.

I genuinely don't get why Toyota gives overseas customers the better treatment while we get the bare minimum

Toyota still believes in using cheap materials in low trim Corolla the seats are not comfortable and not powered they should consider that.

I think I would pick the Corolla as the Camry looks too generic on the exterior.

The Camry looks a lot better than that little dinky Corolla.. and rides and drives and handles 100% better

The Camry looks plainer to me. So I would choose the Corolla with the 2litre Engine.

I’m 6”2 and they both offer the same level of comfort sitting in the front seats. It’s more the back seats that the Camry has the significance difference

How is the back seat space when it comes to two car seats? I’m about 6’ tall have a two young kinds in car seats. It would be nice to demonstrate the room with car seats. I’m leaning towards the Camry tho

Hey there..I looked at both, and both are nice..although the Corolla is slightly smaller, I actually felt just as comfortable in the Corolla as I did in the Camry and Im 6'2..I have an 18 month old and his car seat fits just fine in both..I choose the Corolla Hybrid for 25,000 and really like it, especially the 4,000 price difference difference..
