@@shawnahartzog1799 Definitely not gonna argue with that, I have the Recurve Version with 55# limbs and an extra set of 35# Practice Limbs that I bought a little over 2 years ago. So far I've filled my Freezer Last Season and the Season before that. Not gonna lie... I'm rather impressed with my hunting kit in it's given state, given I spent less than $300 on it. P.S. the animals that I filled my freezer with were Season 1: 800lb bull elk which dressed out to about 550lbs Season 2: 1 280lb Muley (6 point) and 1 147 Whitetail Buck which dressed out to 185 and 85lbs respectively (give or take a few pounds)

fiberglass is a fun step in bow making. something i do that helps keep the epoxy off the glass is painters tape. also helps with unwanted scratching. building bows is a fun obsession and glad im not the only one lol (over 30 so far)

best or funniest channel, i see a bow everywhere i go but trees no good, see lots of trees that look like a bow n find my mind n having a go at it. I love how u teach, not everything all at once like some channels, but you. stopping n pointing out say a pin knot that might cause a problem n solve it. my solution to solving most things are backing it. learned that from you, i’m nice n cozy in my safe blanket when there backed. I am northeastern ontario canada and Ojibway which is really Odawa. somr old man bout hundred years explained in the language process of building bow and which tree creator gave us to use etc. .There is. barely anything written down by our people as it’s oral. i am in the process of giving in to making a tillering gizmo or buy one from you instead of just floor tillereing. I would like to see you build a scalloped bow, n give us your thoughts on why the scallops were there. one theory is so u could identify shooter by bow. another thought is that it may help prevent twisting, get a stronger bow with less material. another thought is that is amethod of filleting, without losing as much draw weight. be cool to see a scalloped build. product tester? imma look into that

I'm a total Shatter Proof Fan! I'm on the west coast, and retired military. You have inspired me to try my hand at making stuff. Starting with Flemish Strings, then to arrows. As a laminated bow build is on my bucket list, I've been watching numerous bowyer channels and each as something to add to the mix. Granted, the process is kind of plug and play anymore, but individual design / material choices and attention to detail dictate the outcome, I see this build as one of your more professional builds. Kudos! Best of luck going forward. As for myself, I'm "shooting" for a more "Shrew" type exaggerated reflex / deflex design; mostly to accomodate my absurd 31" draw length without having a 66" long bow. I have a 2 year old Black Hunter @ 40lb. that I like save the stacking after 29" or so. Perhaps I should investigate designing new limbs for the existing 15" longbow riser. Has anyone here tried going down that particular road?

If you pre shape your tip overlays, it's much easier to sand the feather edge. Is that blood wood? The condensed video makes this look easy, but it's anything but easy. Respect.

Legolas's bows are too round to work in real life as recurves as they are, and the lorien bow has those bumbs in the belly that would ruin the tiller. Mirkwood bow is possible with just a little flatter and wider, and it should be longer if made only from wood, if fiberglass or eaven sinew is used, then it would work. Lorien bow would have to loose the bumbs, atleast the further away from the hand ones, and allso be flatter. But if they still after these changes would be considered legolas bows, then they would be possible, but with exact movie looks? Not going to work.

Favourite bowyer to watch by far!!! videos are great, not too much detail but let us know why i do things a certain way. I’m ojibway n research says we had a scalloped bow, at first i thought maybe a distance gauge but a quick move of knock would do same thing. I believe their was a purpose not just to make look nice. anyone have wander?

I just recently discovered this channel in the past few weeks and I am absolutely loving the videos! One video id love to see would be a bow build guide similar to the 50 dollar build with tools video, except with a more 150 to 250 dollar budget. That way it could accommodate some higher quality tools and materials

Decent build, On your next one try to get those fades alot finer, lay them out 1” mark aim for 1/16” thick and at the 2” mark aim for 1/8” it will tighten up those glue lines big time!!

Yeap.... made me build a bigger better box so I can attempt this one . Beautiful bow doc. Im using oak belly bloodwood back with clear glass and im actually cooking the handle as I wrote this . ( testing the new box) . Handles got eight different hardwoods in it . Except a couple oak strips . Should turn out nice . I'll accept half as good as yours .

Very nice!! I got a project idea for you as a challenge sort of thing To make an ambidextrous asiatic composite style bow. And also make it about 6 feet or a bit longer, the length of an english longbow/warbow. And with warbow levels of draw weight Can do modern laminated materials but bonus points if you’re able to make it with all natural materials like the old composite bows, horn, wood and/or bamboo, and sinew. The idea behind this is what is described in most editions of Dungeons & Dragons as a “Composite Longbow” Far as I can tell the only historical bow design that for sure existed that would technically count as a Composite Longbow irl is the Japanese Daikyu Yumi. But I wonder how an english longbow/warbow sized asiatic composite bow that’s more symmetric would be like.

Takes longer for me to make a bow. I can’t afford power tools. I make my bows with hand tools. It took me almost a month to make just for an English longbow. Nice build.

Here's an idea. Why don't we ever see reflex/deflex limb design on a CROSSBOW? Crossbows are loud no matter what the design. Still, would still be interesting to see if quieter than a recurve crossbow.
