Rollerblade E2 - The Hybrid speed and fitness skate combination! This is my review of the new Rollerblade E2 skate. I’m generally against Semi-speed skates as they create bad habits and fake stability... However this skate will allow you to transfer from fitness to speed when you’re ready for it, without wasting money or time 🙂

You reviewed it! I'm so happy to see this one. Quick recommendation for anyone who might buy these skates (I skate in them regularly). If you are keeping the cuff on, don't tighten it to the point where it prevents you from squatting and angling your shins forward. I made that mistake very early and had to take week off after a long session because shins and ankles hurt so much (almost like it was bruised). I found that it's worth lowering yourself, getting the angle you'll be mostly skating at, and then tightening the cuff. That gives the comfort and the support for long periods of time.

For me these didn't work out. Skated them two times and the second time after 16km, the tongue between the fixed and removable part were digging into my ankles so bad I could barely skate. I still have a tibialis anterior tendinopathy (mostly asymptomatic luckily) on my right foot months later. Now using the Powerslide R6 with a lot of succes. Skating marathons without foot problems.

These are very nice skates and fast after a minute of skating, but the boot fitting is not for everyone. My feet are "bony" with high bridges, and I started getting blisters on my inner side after skating for about 20 km (13 miles). I Tried with band-aids and thicker socks but eventually, it got worse and transitioned to an inflammation on my navicular bone. I decided to return them because they can´t be head molded according to the manual. If you get them, my advice is to skate with them for long distances or a few hours to see how your feet react to them, cause ultimately they´re supposed to be marathon skates.

Got them for one year now but the boot gives me several pain spots on my foot. Without the cuff, it is hard to work with. Only by shoe lace to tighten and it just doesn't feel good. painfull. could you give an instruction video how to fit them perfectly?

I had the same problem. I know exactly what you are talking about. Call Rollerblade and ask them for heat molding instructions. After you heat mold them, wear thin hiking socks. If you do that, you won’t have anymore issues.

i was just going to buy it next week. the price is reasonable. buy 1, get 2 benefits. with 3 wheels 125 mm, suitable for technical training and marathon or long distance races.

Try these on before you purchase. I tried several days ripped a total of 40 miles 7 mile average each time 4-5 min miles. Tried adding padding. My foot is just not gonna work in these. Hopefully i can find someone to buy them. Hopefully I can return them. I really wanted them to work. I live in Breckenridge they're aren't many speed skate dealers in Colorado. They are far.

Agreed, got a similar issue. Luckily Inline warehouse has in-store credit for used skates within 90 days of purchase.

Modified these with padding and heat molding with a heat gun, feeling better. They were $300 as opposed to what I wanted was double in price so it's working. Did a 45 miler feet were ok. Have plans for another before winter

Hi Viktor, is it possible to do a racing stance with these ankle buckle skates, or does the buckle get in the way and have to come off? Thanks for the reply

Do you have some information about 3 Wheels and 4 Wheel?

A few people I skate with got the Rollerblade Endurace, which I assume is the first iteration of this skate. My take away from their experiences is that the skate just isn't nearly supportive enough without the cuff since the boot itself isn't as form-fitting as a typical speed skate so it's actually significantly harder to skate with than speed skates. The boot on this skate looks more like an actual speed skate, though.

Do you think this would work for someone with a wide foot? I have an 11.6 cm wide foot and would like to try a skate like this.

Most speed skate's frame lengths are 12.8" or 13.2", but this skate's frame length is 12.6". Is this length affected anything to speed or marathon skates?
@ahmeeeeeeeeeeeed
@ahmeeeeeeeeeeeed Год назад
Longer frames are harder to push but provide greater returns so it's easier to maintain high speed with longer frames granted you have enough lateral space but they are harder to turn with as well.

I'm not sure if this has been asked elsewhere but do you have an opinion on what the ideal prerequisite for beginning speed skating could be?
@AConnorDN38416

I know a 7 year old that pretty much started speed skating within a couple months of learning how to skate. After a year, he was faster than a lot of the adults I skate with. It's going to be easier to learn how to skate, as an absolute beginner, on fitness/recreational skates, but once you can confidently roll around I don't think there is anything really holding someone back from starting to learn how to speed skate.

Rollerblade is selling these cheap right now. I just picked up a pair and they're wonderful! Viktor, I appreciated your review--it was a big factor in me choosing to buy! I opted for the E2-110 model because I wanted a slightly shorter and more nimble frame. I have a separate pair of true speed skates, so I wanted the E2 for fitness skating around town. My initial impression is that they're the perfect hybrid skate for this.

I have moderately wide feet should I be worried?
@joshcarter-com
@joshcarter-com Год назад
@@dsmooth7183 I usually buy wide, too. The E2 is a soft boot and does a good job fitting my feet snugly without being tight. It won’t cramp the wide part of your foot like hard boots often do. I’ve been skating the heck out of my E2’s for the past month or so and they’re easily the most comfortable skate I’ve owned.
@joshcarter-com
@joshcarter-com Год назад
Just want to add: I know I sound like a Rollerblade shill but I’m just a happy customer. I’ve owned a bunch of skates over the years and it’s super-hard finding ones that fit well, so I get VERY happy when I find a comfortable skate.
