Frank Shamrock (born Frank Alisio Juarez, III; December 8, 1972) is a former American mixed martial artist. Shamrock was the first to hold the UFC Middleweight Championship (later renamed the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship) and retired a four-time defending undefeated champion. Shamrock was the No. 1 ranked pound for pound UFC fighter in the world during his reign as the UFC Middleweight Champion.[2] Shamrock has won numerous titles in other martial arts organizations, including the interim King of Pancrase title, the WEC Light Heavyweight Championship and the Strikeforce Middleweight Championship and remains the only athlete in history to hold titles in every major sports league. He was named "Fighter of the Decade" for the 1990s by the Wrestling Observer, "Best Full Contact Fighter" by Black Belt magazine (1998), and three time "Fighter of the Year" by Full Contact Fighter Magazine. He is a Seventh degree black belt in submission fighting, awarded by O-Sensei Philip S. Porter of the United States Martial Arts Association.[3] He is the adopted brother of UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock. An author, entrepreneur, philanthropist and social activist, he also was a color commentator for Showtime Networks, Bellator MMA, Glory Kickboxing and Combate America's. Frank has been a brand spokesman for Strikeforce, VAS, UFC, and K-1 MMA and has advised on over 4.5 billion dollars in assets. After retiring from MMA competition Shamrock retired in Southern California close to his place of birth and extended family.Shamrock became known as a training pioneer, constantly seeking new influences to round up his game.[15] Most of his fighting method rested in Pancrase's indigenous style of shoot wrestling (better known in the West as catch wrestling), but he later also learned orthodox kickboxing striking under Maurice Smith, who also taught him to improve his cardiovascular conditioning and natural athleticism.[15] He also studied Jeet Kune Do before his UFC debut.[4] Shamrock's improved cardio, along with an excellent defensive guard work learned from Tsuyoshi Kohsaka, enabled him to survive against superior opponents in order to seek for openings, which he capitalized on with aggressive strikes and submissions.[15] Though not the first one in history, he was considered one of the greatest earlier mixed martial artists, excelling in all the fields of the game.

GOAT. Glad I had the honor and privilege to tryout for his fight team back in 08 and be able to sit down with him and chop it up. One of the nicest and most down to earth people I’ve ever met. The man is a ICON. The first true mixed Martial artist. Him, Bas and Marco Ruas.

What kinda intelligent moves vs ortiz. Low kicks cuse of ortiz stance, then switches to mid-high kicks with punchcombos. also searching for submissionmoves. Ortiz had no chance cuse of all that pressure.

I totally forgot about Frank Shamrock vs Enson Inoue. That was such a great fight. Enson gave Frank alot of problems. Also love watching Tito get blasted with 12 to 6 elbows to the back his head. Awesome

Frank is a legend, but this video does him a disservice. Tito tapped to strikes, not a KO. Enson was disqualified when his brother ran into the ring, not a KO. Shannon Ritch was not a top fighter and quit because he got kicked in the arm. The fight with Frank was Cesar's one and only MMA fight. Frank had an amazing career and deserves to have a highlight video, but these aren't his top five KOs or even his top 5 fights.

I agree with everything u said except the enson fight, that was no dq. If u watch that fight again, u can see enson go completely stiff right after he hits the ground.

The finishing grappling and striing sequences vs Tito were awesome skillwise though. Still one of the most impressive performances iv'e ever seen. The ground strike defence was incredible by Frank wore tito out finished him.
