Thank you for taking your time to document and share with the rest of us Sienna owners that need to do this modification. I honestly do not understand Toyota's thinking, why that hell didn't they included this with the vehicle. I appreciate it very much.
I just installed new spare tire storage yesterday following your video. Installation was very smooth and took about 2.5 hrs with no problems. Thank you for the video.
Just got mine kit today. $293.03 plus tax. I have called a dealer and gave them the exact parts numbers you provided in comments. First they told me it’s going to cost 470 dollars. I told them that I found it cheaper on the internet and they immediately matched their price. Thank you for all the good info and showing how to do it. 👍🏻
@@tonyzhang7812 everything that’s needed including a jack , nuts and bolts. The only thing missing is the actual spare wheel. I bought mine from ebay for $260 (with jack) now I have two jacks. I don’t know how much original Toyota wheel at the dealer would cost. If similar I would buy original from the dealer.
@@tonyzhang7812 yes it is and it was the hardest to install part. The carpet is kind of high there and I had to cut it ( the carpet) a little to be able to screw the plastic jack holder to the floor. You can’t see these cuts because they are underneath the holder so it looks ok. I couldn’t figure out any other way to install it. Maybe your carpet is different. I have the SE trim.
I had difficulty removing the white one time use fasteners and chose to re-use the ones that were there. That seemed to work fine. Thank you for this video.
@@poornimahegde7301 I just purchase a 2024 Sienna XLE which did not come with a spare tire. I has Runflat tires. From where did you order the parts for the spare tire conversion kit? Would greatly appreciate knowing the source of the kit. My Toyota dealer says that their parts department do not have any part number for this kit.
Thanks for sharing. Great video and explanation. I have a 2023 Toyota Sienna limited and will try to install the spare wheel carrier using your video. It is a really bad feeling to drive out of town without a spare wheel. Very bad thought on Toyota's part to save a few bucks.
Wish I had seen this ~18 mo ago. I actually bought a rim and had a cheap standard tire fitted to use on a long trip to Canada. I leave the wheel in the garage when driving around locally. A friend junked a 2009 Odyssey so I snagged the temp spare from that car as well. Seems to have the same bolt circle. Cost for wheel and tire was ~$300, not much different from cost of trim and mount in this video. I have had one flat in the past 30 yrs so for me the risk is low but with the hybrid/CVT a flat in the boonies means a flat bed wrecker pickup and a $150 + tire demount/TPMS replacement if the Toyota kit fails to work. FWIW a deep dive google on the Sienna wheel will give you the parameters for the wheel size/BCD and mounting bolt threadings so you can search for similar in other vehicles and look for those in pick apart junk yards where the tire will be dirt cheap.
great video, just had flat tire and spend 5 hours for tow truck, spare kit did not work so I find this video, wow, next day I order parts with 235$ in 2 days parts received, next day spend just 30 min to replace parts, amazing, thank you much, just I concern for spare tire size 155/80R17!!!! tires on Sienna are 235/60R18 so obviously it is really small but I checked with manufacture and Toyota dealer, so recommended spare tire size is 155/80R17, thank you so much for sharing this video
Hello, really enjoyed and appreciated your video. I purchased a 2024 Sienna XSE which is due to come in in early June without a spare tire. My Toyota dealership told me today that they do not perform the spare tire conversion which you have successfully demonstrated in your video. They actually told me that the spare tire donut will not fit in the space by the drivers side rear quarter panel. Then I showed them your video and they wanted to know where you ordered the kit from. Can you share with me where you ordered all of the parts for the kit from? Would much appreciate it. I may end up installing the kit myself.
Hi Hegde! This is dope. Great video and it's so convenient that you have chapters. Do you mind if I include a clip from your video in mine? I will definitely reference your channel and give you the credit that you deserve. Thanks!
Thank you for the video! Have you noticed more wear on the left rear tire due to the increased weight from the spare tire? For the vans that come from the factory with a spare, I wonder if Toyota puts weights on the right rear to balance the car.
I wish i had seen this a month ago. I recently turned down a sienna because it didn't have a spare tire. I would like to see more about your jack install. Also what year sienna spare tire did you get?
Jack was installed in the space below the spare wheel. You can use padding (I used pool noodles) to secure it properly and prevent rattle. I had a spare tire of size 155/80/17 from another car and I used the same to test the installation. Though it fits the spare wheel kit, I am yet to test if it fits the car. You can get the spare wheel either from the dealer or aftermarket, as long as tire size and wheel pattern matches the recommended size. Hope it helps.
@@poornimahegde7301 Thanks for the response. I'm hoping to get one this week, and hopefully it comes with the spare. The steel wheel from the previous generation sienna is under $100 from Toyota whole the aluminum one is over $300. Both use the same tire, and I'd get a new tire either way.
Woodland 235/60/R18, 29.1", the biggest one could fit base on 155/90/R17 28.6", base on this man video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-60eNN1HWQF0.html&ab_channel=EntertainmentWealth
I have a Toyota Sienna 2021 hybrid XLE, I need to do exactly what you did, I just need help finding the kit and someone to install it for me. Can you please let me know how to get this kit?
Hey. You need to order the kit through your local Toyota dealer or order online through autoparts.toyota.com . Part number for XLE trim will be mostly 51900-08050-B2 if the interior color is light grey or 51900-08050-C2 if the interior color is tan. To avoid any color issues, I would recommend calling your local dealer and provide your VIN number and ask for “Spare wheel carrier” part number. All the best!
Please refer to the required components section in this video at : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4YWQfhf5Wg4.html&si=5Q0VwRC4-osg0hXX
Jack was placed in the space below spare wheel carrier and secured with pool noodles. It’s just the placement and securing with right padding to avoid rattle. Let me know if you need any other details.
I appreciate the fantastic video. Could you please let me know the interior color of your Sienna? I'm attempting to determine the color of mine, and it seems that my Sienna's interior color (Ash White) resembles yours.
Can any one please share the link to the items that I can purchase . I have. 2022 sienna xle hybrid model . Does Toyota sell the parts or is it available on Amazon . Please share the link . I am based out of usa.
I paid around $250 for the spare wheel carrier, which includes jack assembly. Spare wheel and tire is a separate buy and you can find cheaper options on ebay. I used existing spare tire/wheel from other car in the video.
The part number of the kit for platinum trim will be different than what’s used for the video. But, the installation procedure will be same. Please call the nearest Toyota dealer and provide them VIN of your Sienna and get it ordered through them.
I tried to search for spare tire size and found several different sizes. 155/80/R17 155/85/R18 155/90/R18 175/70/R20 Does anyone know if Toyota suggests which sizes? I am totally confused. Why there are so many different sizes. By the way, Toyota dealership told me it's OOS. So, they also don't know what's the correct size.
155/80/R17 which is posted on the vehicle sticker, I used 165/80/R17 6.2% smaller vs 8.7% smaller than 235/60/R18, then one closest is 165/90/R18 1.4% smaller but won’t fit the space
@@poornimahegde7301 thank you for the reply, do you use this 155/80/R17? If you push in the plastic cover how much you think space available? My spare 165/80/R17, total rim and tire 7” thick, 155/80/R17 is 6” thick. TIA
I have included a sheet at the beginning of the video with part numbers based on various packages on the van and interior color. If you’re still unclear, please call your dealer and provide vin number and ask for part number for spare wheel carrier.
There will be a specific part number based on the trim, packages installed on your van and interior color of the van. Please refer to the part number sheet in this section of the video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4YWQfhf5Wg4.html&si=5Q0VwRC4-osg0hXX
Just got my kit today . @293.96 at town Toyota, my local dealership. FYI here’s the part number for 2024 Toyota sienna platinum kit 51900-08070-c2 . The kit included everything in video except the spare tire.
@@laloromero4150, sorry for the late response. But no I have not got the chance to get around to it yet. But yes I also have ottoman seat as well , I thinking it’s in all platinum trim. The color in the kit I ordered matched the my platinum sienna, it should match your as well. Call your local dealer with the number I provided . If not worst scenario you can always return if doesn’t match. Lmk if it works out for you. Good luck
@llenawilson thanks, I already try my local toyota dealer, and they had no idea there is out there a kit, so in a few words helpless customers service 😪
Does this include the rear panel? Or just the spare tire holder? What about jack? etc etc? I've done a quick Google search and have seen varying information.
