Hi, You might have already enjoyed your trip. Late reply from me, however useful for future trips. I have a good drive experience in India say 3000 to 4000 Kms trips in 8 to 10 days of tours. Few of my tips with the limited knowledge I have, sorry if I don't know something. Start with Google maps.. Plan & Route related: 1) Plan your trip day wise & spot the all places in the entire route map. 2) travel upwards and return down wards hence you cover some places while u return back home. 3) reach home at least half day before you start your work, hence plan in that way so you get relaxed. 4) Now choose which places you can visit first and which you can keep on return. 5) Try to have a long upward journey on Day 1 and long return journey on last day, rest all in between days you can drive max 4 to 8 hours a day. 6) On first, last day start at 4 am, all other days try to start the journey at 6 am at least. 7) Only day time drive, stop before by 8 pm. 8) In Google maps, remember major towns in your entire route, and every prior day revisit maps and remember the towns, directions and any specific conditions. 9) plan & study by considering the season, events, local rules, traffic rules or diversions, weather forecast etc. Now Car & safety related: 13) Don't overspeed, go in 100 kmph or max 120 if u have full visibility. 90 is safe bet always. 14) make sure car is in well condition, service d before the ride, get the wheel balance & alignment done. Tyres are in good condition. 15) tyre pressure, fill nitrogen gas and keep 34 in summers, else 36. Including spare wheel. 17) take a break of atleast 10 mnts for every 2 to 3 hours of drive, Cross check/glance tyres and car before start again. 18) Ensure to keep all basic car tooling, it's a big list, watch any RU-vid videos. 21) familiar ghat road driving and go slow. 22) Keep one or two safety sticks of 4 feet length, use the bamboo one very strong. 23) Fill the petrol when the tank is half or make sure u have petrol filled and gives adequate Kms than you travel on that day. In forest, ghat roads drive, go with full tank petrol. 24) keep one blanket, torch, some 5 to 6 ltrs of normal water to clean the glass windows or anything for emergency. 25) Try to have the car cleaned everyday morning, it fills Josh to driver. 26) make a note of Kms start reading, end reading, petrol liters filled etc, any incidents in the journey as experiences for next time, 27) Return safely & finally draft the trip costs. Get ready with experiences and plan the next trip soon. 😁
Nice that you added a summary video after the trip. Very informative. Next trip summary Mein aap plan bhi kaise karte ho thoda batayiyega. All the best for all the upcoming trip😇😇
Yes Sir, i had thought of doing it in feb... But first I was unwell, then when i recovered my kid became unwell so i had to delay that plan,,,,, Now in summer it is difficult.... Will plan after June Sir when the weather becomes better.
Yes please follow the route I took while going....Hyderabad-Adilabad-Nagpur-Seoni-Sagar-Jhansi-Gwalior-Agra- Noida- Sonepat- Panipat- Karnal- Amobala- Chandigarh
Well Sir 1 Question i'm not criticizing but just wondering if i keep the passion of Driving aside & If i had done the same 2-3 places by Air and may be a Zoom Car from Chandigarh or Delhi? What would have been the economics and duration of travel? Incase its less would you still do it by Car? (Although I love to see the roads trips you do)
Very Valid question Sir. for me, the journey is more important than the destination so I prefer my own Car. I enjoy the time on the road with family...Normally all of us are busy when at home so while traveling is the time we get to eat together and also spend time together....enjoy long chats etc...I think the only long conversations me and wife have is when we are doing these long drives otherwise as we are both working and Kid has school so that hardly happens...Also India is magical, Every 100 km the language changes, the food changes, the customs change so we get to experience all of those....Also i try and avoid Car rentals, reason being, i know my car well and have developed a trust...I have enough trust to go on long trips and take to the mountains and all... as i maintain the Car i know the condition of brakes, Critical fluids etc....I would be a little skeptical to take a car i dont know that well to the mountains....so these are a few reasons i take my car but i agree if i look at pure economics then flying in or taking a train and then a zoomcar will work out better,
Appreciate your response 👍🏻. But I think what you identified as a 3 problem is correct rather than being on the road daily you can spend some quality time exploring a place along with Family (Adding some food Places which you already do, Local Market places, What to do in a city) especially if you go so far off.
Hello, I have seen your previous videos as well, wherein you traveled from Hyderabad to Delhi. I have few questions Why you choose night start, isn’t it more tiring or do you sleep during the day before night start and lastly how safe you felt while driving at night. I am planing to travel from Hyderabad to Delhi, please suggest.
i don't prefer traveling at night but sometimes due to our schedules we have to do night driving. If leaves are not an issue for you then please only do day driving and avoid nights....Also, i only do night driving in Telangana as i feel it is safer. I do not do night drives in other places. Before a night drive i try and sleep for 2-3 hours in the evening. Best of luck for your trip
