Hi I was wondering do I absolutely need a chiller for a two bucket system or no? Thanks
@HydraUnlimited
@HydraUnlimited Месяц назад
Sorry for the delayed response, it is not necessary but recommended! If you'd like to keep temps down without a chiller, we recommend a timer that limits the pump to 1 min on, 15 mins off. Good Luck!

What is the size of the return lines?.....i like the two bucket system but I'd like to space them farther apart in my tent....i know i can get the parts from your website but don't know which ones.... also i need to know what the size tubing is for the Venturas because I'll have to put length between the T section.

Cool system but 8 gallon buckets are kind of big, which makes it tough to do multiple plants due to limited space.

These are the perfect size to maximize yields through a full RDWC harvest cycle. Check out our instagram page to see some of our home, professional, and commercial cultivators using this to show off their high-yield hydroponic grows.

Do i need a water chiller? Do i need a holding tank outside my tent? How often do i need to change water? Im new sorry!
@HydraUnlimited
@HydraUnlimited 3 месяца назад
Only you can answer that. Do you intend to maximize your water health by keeping your roots in an optimal water temp? Water changes depend on your plant health. If you are not using a chiller you want to change every 7-10 days. If you're serious about growing and looking to maximize plant production, we'd recommend our professional series which is 'water chiller ready.'

When adding nurtrients whats the best way to do it with the 2 Buckets? Individually? Or
@HydraUnlimited
@HydraUnlimited 8 месяцев назад
It can help to dilute the solution with RO water and split it 50/50 between the buckets, but not 100% necessary to do this. You can get away with pouring your nutrients into one bucket - it equalizes very quickly!

I just ordered the two bucket system and my lids are SUPER wobbly. Shouldn’t they have a tighter fit?

Interested in this 2 bucket system. But I’m curious on what will I need to order in order to hook up my chiller. I see the 4 bucket looks like it comes with what is needed to hook up a chiller, but what about the 2 bucket?
@HydraUnlimited
@HydraUnlimited 6 месяцев назад
Hey there. The professional systems come chiller-ready, not the home systems. The home systems are simple beginner setups for RDWC. Please reach out to sales@hydraunlimited.com for more information if you're really set on the 2-bucket being chiller-ready and they'll send you an unofficial DIY guide to accomplish this yourself. Thanks for the comment!

Also, is there an option or attachment to add a reservoir?
@HydraUnlimited
@HydraUnlimited 7 месяцев назад
Yes, we do have a top-off valve assembly available on our website! This comes with a 1/4” ID hose to connect to an RO or reservoir.

From what I can read in the comments, this system would essentially only need one chiller to cool both buckets?
@HydraUnlimited
@HydraUnlimited 6 месяцев назад
Correct, but these are not chiller-ready, our professional systems are. Reach out to sales@hydraunlimited.com if you're really set on making this chiller-ready, you'll need to use an unofficial DIY guide.

You put the thread tape on backwards

It was unfortunately put on backwards, but seal still held!
@JustWitness

It's suppose to be backwards 😂 I did the same thing doing plumbing systems for pools and hot tubs. When you need to service the tape comes undone easily.

Great set up, I think there should be 4 white seals (2 ea. bkt, 1-inside/1-outside), but great overall

Would i be required to use a chiller?
@HydraUnlimited
@HydraUnlimited 6 месяцев назад
No, you're not required to use additional equipment. However, depending on what your grow needs are - a lot of our growers are going that route to maintain more even plant temps for their needs. We recommend our professional units if that is the case, as those are chiller-ready and geared towards more serious growers. If you're really set on making this chiller ready, be sure to reach out to sales@hydraunlimited.com for an unofficial DIY guide.

Can you put 2 bucket system hooked up with another 2 bucket system to make it a full system? Hook up instead of spending $1400 on a 4 bucket system which doesn't make sense. Anyways, can you keep hooking up buckets?Or is there a way to connect them if you have this model
@HydraUnlimited
@HydraUnlimited 4 месяца назад
The 1 & 2 buckets were created as stand alone systems and are full systems in and of themselves, we designed them to be minimal setups. They can't be hooked up to each other as the plumbing and pump would not work, however, we will be releasing a 4-bucket home system in the near future that is more streamlined than the pro. Now, our professional and commercial systems ARE built to be scalable, as you're suggesting, as long as your plumbing can handle the amount of buckets you are adding onto. So if you're thinking about building out rooms and adding on in the future - you'll want to invest in the professional system. Once you get to 8 bucket or longer runs, you need to also upgrade portions of the plumbing to properly account for the increased water recirculation needs. This is to maintain proper water levels, and recirculation values to keep the grow optimized. Email sales@hydraunlimited.com for more info, happy to help out!

So for this 2 bucket system how do the buckets get disconnected to be cleaned 1 month into the grow cycle. The larger systems you just pick the buckets up from what i seen
@HydraUnlimited
@HydraUnlimited 9 месяцев назад
If there isn't a chiller connected to the system, we recommend changing out the water every 3-7 days. If you have a chiller integrated into the system, then you can just give it a full cleanse in between each grow.
@Demize708
@Demize708 8 месяцев назад
Can you elaborate on the chiller part? Why does a chiller help not changing the water so often? It would be nice if you put that in the information before I bought it
@HydraUnlimited
@HydraUnlimited 8 месяцев назад
A chiller's function is to stabilize water temperature fluctuations, the average temperature in an optimal setting is 68-72 degrees. Water health is dependent on a balance of good and bad bacteria, a chiller simply assists the temperature to maintain consistency.

how can one drain them easily?
@HydraUnlimited
@HydraUnlimited 2 месяца назад
Turn off the pump, disconnect the circulator - and then you'll use the main line to be able to just "pump" the water out. The center drain will help everything down so you're freely able to pump "out" basically. A 5 gallon bucket next to everything works great. DM us on IG, FB, or email us at customerservice@hydraunlimited.com for further Q's, thanks!

I have watched a few assembly videos but still not sure how this works. Is there a video which explains how this works ? And I know how RDWC works but I still can't crack this system :]

Hello! Currently we only have an overview of the larger systems. On our channel, the video "HydraMax Product Tour" gives a good idea of how it works. The concepts are just about the same for the 1 & 2 bucket systems. We will have more content coming soon for all our systems so stay tuned!! If you still have questions you can always call or email our customer service team to talk with someone at HQ directly. email: customerservice@hydraunlimited.com phone: 616-277-5139
