Thank you for this video! My hydrangeas are beautiful and green. :-/ I did an at home soil test and have high N and low P and K! Thanks to this video, I know what to look for in a fertilizer.
Thanks so much! Very helpful! Wish I’d searched this out a couple years ago when we had some poorly performing hydrangeas that were mostly green and white. I love the blue blooms and just thought I didn’t have the right variety. We just got a blue purple that turned mostly purple after a week. I’m going to apply your tips to getting it more blue again.
Hi, my name is ronnette, ill be in spring, getting an endless summer hydrangea from a garden center from a pot and planting in ground in spring. My soil is alkaline so First, would i still need to fertilize and food plant along w adding the soil adcidifiyer to keep them blue? Or will they start to turn pink? The Garden center will select the compost to use for my soil. Second, , what food plant and fertiizer would you recommed? I read, holly tone, plant tone, rose tone are great for fertilizer and food. I dont want something huge, will these stay 3 or 4 feet? Want a blue hydrangeas dwarf thats a reblooming, thirdly, is there a dwaft blue hydrangea, reblooming, like the original? .. Thank so much
Very through. Yet my plants 🌱 won’t ever get color. So let people know. Mine were here and I don’t know the variety. I tried the minerals and found only one video that he said you won’t get color, if you have one ☝️ type! Ahhh so I finally gave in.
If you want to treat the soil to get the color change, when in the growing season do you make the first application? Do I assume early spring when you fertilize for the first time?
