Fantastic! I love how music like this, seemingly so digital and fragmented, can feel so organic and part of the natural world. These kinds of performances are more visceral and reflective of biological processes than any other kind.

Thanks - really enjoyed that. I have been waiting to hear the sensel morph thunder used in this context. Now I am convinced it will give me the ui I need for the Craftsynth 2.0 and Skulpt I am using. Love that Hydrasynth though!

Exceptional. A sort of liberation. Really beautiful wildness. I'm assuming that a lot of this lies in the sound design and could be performed with the pads on the desktop?

Thank you! Yeah you could absolutely do a lot of this using the built in pads. The biggest difference with the Morph is that in addition to pressure you can also use the x and y location of the key press as a modulation source.

(imagine grafting particularly compelling slices of something like this together via some sort of sampling/looping mechanism. and composing with those pieces. just thinking out loud here Im such a beginner)

Does this require mapping with a computer first or can you just plug directly to hydrasynth and set it up with hydrasynth? Super cool sounds!

Thanks! You have to connect the midi controller into a MIDI-USB Host (I use the Kenton USB Host MK2), and the Morph does come with a few MPE maps pre-loaded but if you want to customize things you need to set it up in the computer first. Hope this helps!

Sarah you are amazing! Congratulations. Can you explain how do you map the morph to the synth, which parameters are controlled by the thunder? It’s a one to one mapping or more a many to many kind of interaction? Thanks.

Thank you so much! The patching is a little complicated to explain, but I'm mostly using the Morph as a standard MPE controller -- a lot of the interesting interaction is being handled by per-note randomization on the Hydrasynth in one-shot mode.

Thanks! The Sensel is configured to act as a pretty standard MPE controller in this setup, so using the x-axis as pitch bend, y-axis as CC74 and z-axis as aftertouch -- those are controlling a bunch of things in the mod matrix on the hydrasynth, but there's also a lot of per note randomization using the LFOs in one-shot mode.

Keep up the amazing work. It was exactly the type of thing I was wanting to hear from the hydra. Wondered if it could go that far out. Please inquire about the randomization of notes...??? That machine seems incredibly powerful.
