How dangerous is to crush stuff with hydraulic press if you don't have neccesary safety equipment? We are going to use our test dummy / ballistic torso to find out on this work safety experiment! Do not try this at home!! or at any where else!! We explode ball bearings, bearing ball, hammer, knife and brass cylinder in our safety box using 150 ton hydraulic press and 240 ton force sensor.

I really like the idea of having something next to whatever you're pressing to see the potential injuries/damage. Surprisingly a lot less lethal than I'd imagine, although still doesn't look fun.

The upper piece of hammer striking the bottom of the forehead at 7:05 might've cracked PTD's skull, or even broken it... at the very least, it would be a nasty concussion when the force rams his skull into his frontal lobes. Hard to guess about the hit to the nose, but PTD probably needs at least reconstructive surgery for his sinuses and orbital bones.

Ballistic gel is stronger than your flesh. It is designed to stop gun ammo so that you can measure various data. I mean, these analogs heads are not bad but I wouldn't use these tests as a base to say "this is not lethal" - especially as luck is a factor here as well. The hammer situation could have gone better for the dummy, others could have gone worse.

I think when the hammer smacked the head in the nose, that was brain bleed that we were seeing. A hit that hard in the nose like that will most definitely guarantee that result every time. Its more likely that it was the hemorrhaging of the tons of blood vessels you have in the nasal cavity. If it was the brain you would see blood leaking from the skull area.

It would be interesting to see how those fragments did against cloth hanging in the air. Maybe see if the cloth (perhaps denim) would flex enough to absorb the force without being cut. There are also curtains for the back of archery ranges that might do the same.

It'd be interesting to see what would happen if you tweaked the angle of the hydraulic press so that the object can "explode" towards the face. I think that would ensure that any broken pieces actually hit the face instead of leaving it up to luck

After doing some original u- joints from my 79 ford with my small 12T hydraulic press and having some very explosive sounds even when it was going right. You should also try with the face: -Prince Rupert's drop (a big one) -The deck of cards using the slicer 3000 attachment thing (perhaps it'll become a slicing machine, especially if you can lower the press extra fast lul) Also, perhaps surround the other 180 degrees of the blast with a steel semicircle? perhaps it would direct the blast more (if deflection doesn't cause them particles to loose too much energy). Or maybe there's another way of focusing it lul

7:35 ballistic gel substitutes have REALLY come a very LONG way since the old days of mythbusters… For an impact to give analog bruising damage be visible like that…gives quite a unique look at the kind of damage a body takes after a punch for example other than what you see on the surface…

Since it has that red liquid you could try to see how heavy object you need to drop on the top of head to cause internal bleeding. Start with light objects and go heavier and heavier until, well, yeah, internal bleeding.

You and your wife make me laugh I have such a great time looking at these videos cuz I do have to use these tools I think one of the worst ones was the tire press.. Pressing forklift tires.... I've seen some crazy s*** go wrong diesel prices that are bolted to the floor that can press massive solid forklift tires onto a solid hub while removing the one that's there.. I love to see you get ahold of one of these guys do something crazy with it 😊🔥🔥
