I would imagine the hydraulic oil freezes at around minus 30 to minus 50 hence why the ln2 frozen jack didn't work. You can't compress a solid (frozen oil) and also the rubber sealing rings would have been frozen and brittle hence the crazy destruction in the test on the ln2 frozen jack. Seems a waste of good jacks though.

I'd like to say I was entertained, but you have squashed bottle jacks before. So this is nothing new. I've suggested before to try hitch balls of different sizes, or semi trailer hitch king pins. Still waiting for it. 😐

I don’t see the point. All I require of a hydraulic jack is to lift its advertised load capacity under reasonable conditions.
