Ok from scrolling through the comments I've learned this: - before dipping: sand the crocs - wipe off dust, with rubbing alcohol - use a primer - make a simple colour scheme - dip ONCE - after dipping: use sealant - let them slowly and fully dry for 24 hours And: stop touching them while they dry!

Think of it this way: having the paint chip off over time just means they're infinitely re-dippable. Once the first layer is gone, you can just dip them again. You can try out different styles, and build your hydro-dipping skills. Like nail art.

For anyone wanting to do this: you’ll definitely want to take a piece of high grit sandpaper (maybe 800-1,000) and lightly scuff up the ENTIRE surface of the crocs (even the bottom). This will allow the paint to get into the surface a bit instead of trying to grip on a very smooth surface. Also, the “less is more” trope applies here. Use fewer colors than she tried to. Hold the can at a 45° angle to the water, about 2” above the surface, and don’t spray it all over the place, just spray it in one spot and let it move itself across the water. Spray the next color INTO the previous color, so that both colors are involved in the dip. It’s very important that you don’t spray it around like you’re trying to paint the surface of the water. Lastly, put your hand inside the shoe, dip it in upside down, gently shake it under water (this gets the rest of the paint on the surface out of your way), and in one fluid motion, turn the shoe right side up while bringing it up to the surface; avoid any spots of paint on the surface if you can.

The replies to this comment are a lot more helpful, I recommend reading them :3 Sand down the crocs a little, the paint doesn’t have anything to stick to when you don’t! C: Edit: And definitely use primer and a top coat Credit to Donutthecat Box for that tip :3 Usually id use a Mod Podge that dries clear for a topcoat. I decorate stuff a lot, the smoothness of the crocs doesn't have anything for the paint to grip to. Sanding them a lil should definitely fix that. I say Redemption Video Part 2!! Edit #2: With the mod podge, i meant the brands Matte topcoat, but for what your during i see why it be better to get something more durable. Thanks for the more educated people replying lol!! These are just what ive personally used.
