Today we put together a basic hydroponic grow rack for our seedlings. We will eventually add timers, heat mats, and enclose some of the shelves to run comparative tests using the HLG 65 by Horticulture Lighting Group.
This is a great little hydroponic setup if you're needing to save space and grow plants.

I mounted 2 of these per shelf, 4 total that size, side by side. and used a dimmer (I have a B version meanwell driver, so its dimmable ). My plants grew into the light so fast I had to turn the light down to 20% after a couple weeks because the plants grew so close it was light bleaching/burning plants. They are a powerhouse of a light. I wish the 4K would have been available when I got mine. I have the 3k color temp ones.

Yeah you can cram a lot of plants onto these guys. This version B drivers sounds pretty good I would love to have a dimmable version. Right now the only option I have is to split the power from 1 driver to two boards to get half the output.

You could zip tie the board to your rack. Nice set up btw!

Good to have you back mr. Looking forward to seeing how the new rack performs. Out of interest sakes, how long do you keep the lights on? Would that depend on the plant? I'm still learning.

I've left them on for 24hrs before. But I think it's important to give the plants a rest. 18on and 6off would be a safe standard for all seedlings.

The 40watt strips work better on shelves. Just the right light level when dimmed down to 50%.

do you have any recommendations on the best led grow lights to buy for the cheapest price?

Are you just trying to grow seedlings or grow it through its entire life cycle. Lots of cheap grow lights on AliExpress but I'd stay away from them. I've seen people have success with multiple regular A19 LED bulbs. The NOVA SN300 Professional LED has good reviews as well as VIPARSPECTRA and MARS Hydro

I'm doing both! a big thing though is boosting natural light in late fall and easy winter for year Rond growing. Where would you recommend buying led lights from?

@@SimpleTek I wouldn't use anything other than HLG. You'll save so much on power bills it'll pay for itself almost instantly.
