Dear Shagun, The classical Dandy-Walker malformation is characterised by cystic dilatation of the fourth ventricle, which almost fills the posterior fossa associated with the hypoplastic or aplastic cerebellar vermis

In this condition, patient will present as ataxic gait, hypotonia, nystagmus and delayed development. This is also a part of Joubert syndrome.

Mr. Rahul If serial measurements r suggesting that it is progressive then surgery is indicated. Otherwise brain development will be affected.

Prognosis depend on how much brain damage occur before surgery and other associated malformations. Take expert advice of neurosurgeon and pediatric neurophysician.
