I thought spout was only for first few weeks of growing and then switch to blossom. I have had problems with my tomato plant also started wilting so I took it out in a attempt to save it and put it in dirt with worm castings and tomato tone. It only been a couple days so no improvement yet but keep hoping it will make it
Hi, ya that's frustrating for sure. To clarify a bit, I have 2 gardens, one has sprout and one has blossom so my tomatoes aren't getting sprout. I do a combo of blossom, CalMag and a flower booster (potassium and phosphorus). Do you have any pH or EC reading by chance? That's where I'd start for sure, especially pH. You want to be using blossom (and maybe consider my additions, those might help) and an EC around 2.2-2.5 for blossoming tomatoes.
@@beyourbestgardener8767 the original rise garden had a very in accurate ph tester so I gave up using it. I when with what is recommended weekly caliclated by rise garden app by the plants that are in garden. Never had an issue til now. All other plants are doing good. I have a mini me cucumber, lettuce and camomile on top level and Swiss chard and pepper on bottom and the tomato was on bottom that had the issues

Hey, Kelly! We have a Rise 3 tier on the way and are getting so excited about it…your videos have been SO helpful and interesting, over anyone else’s for me. I’m so looking forward to watching things grow and thrive…and also to make mistakes, no doubt. Which plants do you think are most foolproof, I.e. likely success for a newbie? Lettuce and basil ,I’m guessing? Also, are you on Instagram? I’ve joined the FB group and looks like that’s a great place for inspiration and commiseration. I can’t wait to try flowers someday. I keep thinking that sweet alyssum might do well in this.
Hi and thank you, that's so nice! I'm glad the videos are helpful ☺️ I'm still learning a bit too but I've definitely had some growing pains with these gardens! My biggest tip is get a way to test pH. EC is nice to have too. Those 2 things will make a huge difference. Easiest plants to grow are definitely lettuce and basil. I'd also recommend the green beans. The mini me cucumbers I grow are also a good one to try. If you only have 1 garden, it can be tricky to grow lettuce and tomatoes in one garden because they both have different nutrient requirements. If you do, go higher on the EC to support the tomatoes. Never grown sweet alyssum but it's really pretty. I usually don't grow flowers (other than lavender). I did grow a sunflower once which was pretty ☺️ I'm not on Instagram but my dog Sylvie is 😆
Hmm, can you describe the leaves going bad? Ironically one of the common problems with tomatoes in soil is over watering and then the stem rots at the base or you'll see the leaves curl. Yellowing leaves is a common indicator of low nitrogen.
@@beyourbestgardener8767 I took it from soil and put in hydroponic.was first brown spots on leaves then the whole stem rots…keeps throwing off new growth and when it does the rest browns n falls off
@@CindyOkike it's definitely a type of stem rot. Tomatoes can suffer from multiple kinds and it might be bacterial, which is why it's spreading to the leaves. I've never actually put a tomato from soil to hydroponics. Have you only tried this once? Might just be this one tomato. It's definitely more common to go from hydroponics to soil.
It's totally fine as one plant. Just gotta keep it trimmed down. I might go back to 2 stalks but I was experimenting with 3. I usually only have cucumbers on the top shelf so it's fine. I really like how crazy it is haha, plus, I get tons of cucumbers off if ☺️
