Great video. But even better to see you're making them again. It has been a while... am looking forward to see more of your adventurous hydroponic projects :)
You really gotta be prepared to leave plants for a few weeks. I see you have tomatoes, they can get pretty darn big in a few weeks, especially in a flood and drain system. I did this once with a big grow tent full of cannabis. When I got home my plants had taken over the whole space and looked amazing. I planned on 2 weeks but was gone 3. The only issue was my water pump was blown due to the reservoir being empty. I must have gotten back in time. One of my best indoor grows ever
Ha, thought you were gone for good after your monster Pumpkin. Thanks for the seeds but they never germinated due to the cracked shells. So, Its been a few years since I've done Hydro but couldn't you just use the drain line for the fill and drain? Great tray for starts, don't forget a filter on the drain side.
You could. Some guys like to run their flood & drain for longer periods which would need a drain to prevent spillage from overflow. I only like to run it long enough to get the roots wet I add the drain just in case.
Do you think the flood/drain system is better than just having a self-watering system like this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--qC4JFu-Oyw.html Saw it a week or two ago and liked the simplicity of it. No need for expensive timers , or even electricity/pumps possibly, depending on nutrient and water sources/placement.
