I’m 55 years old now and I got saved in 1978. My Daddy became a Christian shortly after I did. From that day forward until he passed away in 2011 I was raised on people like The Cathedrals and The Florida Boys. I wish Christian music today was as good as The Cathedrals were and still are. Now my daddy’s in heaven with all this wonderful music and he can listen to these wonderful men with Jesus all the time ❤
Amen! I grew up with Christian parents, that kept me in church every Sunday.I went to the altar and got saved.Thank you Jesus for taking away my sins, and washing my heart, whiter than snow!!!
George and Glenn had a special combination that made them so special; their longevity thriving in a very demanding, difficult calling was inspirational, their humility and approachability in person was contagious, their voices that only got better with age, were amazing, their unique-one-of-a-kind personalities that will never be duplicated, and best of all their commitment and love for Jesus!
I Had a church friend make me a cassette tape of gospel music and the first song was Champion Of Love which introduced me to what I will ALWAYS believe is the greatest gospel group ever The Cathedrals Loved their harmony and the way they could really take a song and sing it Sooooo beautifully where you felt their emotions as they would sing Miss You George Glenn and Roger
So VERY BEAUTIFUL AND TOUCHING!! Makes you love our Jesus and want to see him! Thank You Cathedrals for your love of Jesus and for singing about Jesus ❤️🙏I miss you Glenn and George. I’ll see you n Heaven n the morning
I thank my Mom for introducing me to Southern Gospel 15 years ago when I was going through a difficult pregnancy with my now almost 15 year old son... This has truly helped me through a lot...
The Catherdals is the BEST Christian group that I have ever heard.Love them so much.❤.They are such a blessing to me.George and Glen are in Heaven with JESUS NOW,singing praises to God!
The first time I saw these guy was in a church in Columbus Ohio- nothing can ever compare to how their harmony would resonate. It is truly magical. The best I have ever seen.

prince jenkins yes George is good but my favorite bass singer is J D Sumner. They were. both very good friends. May they RIP. GOD blessed them both with their wonderful voices. Amen?
Jesus, what a wonderful name. I wish this group was still around to show the young ones what gospel really is. I really miss George, Glenn, and Roger, such talent is with Jesus himself.
George Younce was spectacular because the man could SING, not just sing bass, but he could roll out a song like few bass singers can. Aside from being the best bass, he could put it together with the other harmony parts and it was/is beautiful.
The best there ever was. I got to stand onstage right beside George when I was a teenager and hear his voice in my ear, not through a mic and speaker. Indescribable.
@@bamakeyman awesome. I met them in Cadillac MI. George was so funny. Never did get to sing with him though. Singing with Bill Gaither and friends is top on my bucket list. God bless us all in these times.
We don't realize sometime how blessed we are to finally see this wonderful group. I have the cassette but was never able to actually see them perform. Wow.

Some of you miss the point. I lived through this change in Christian music. The old time hymns we sang as kids with Mom,Ad,grandma and grandpa are gone. The Cavalry Chapel movement started this years ago. Of all things......being from California was bad enough but coming out of the hippie movement sealed it. I watched as even our Baptist churches here in SE Pennsylvania lost the young people to the rock band, drums, bass guitar,Peter,Paul & Mary folk music took over. I came out of real Bible churches in the Midwest. Hymn sings were so inspirational and good for the soul. I repudiate Hillsong,Bethe, their music and their apostate, heretical message. I was hooked on Southern gospel as a kid in Illinois. When we moved back to Pennsylvania,I saw many of these groups in Lancaster,Lebanon, and Central Pa. I can't find the type of Bible teaching we had in the Midwest but without the old hymns....... I go in to church late......I can't stand this music,I make sure I miss it
In my opinion The Cathedrals, The Heralds, the GVB are the top three or are the best of male vocal groups. I truly loved Glen Payne. He expressed joy in every song he sang. And I agree George could just sing period.
Excellent group of songs, by the most excellent group......nothin' better than the Cathedrals singing with the piano, or acapella......it's so good, it hurts my soul....in a good way!!
John, it seems that all that today's generation is interested in hearing is rock bands trying to play "Praise and Worship", hip slop or rap crap. Soon none of the real music like this will be found except on older Cd's, vinyl records or even tapes. It was this very thing that all but killed the Promise Keepers movement when they got rid of the Maranatha Praise Band and brought in a rock band (to attract the younger crowd). What they wound up doing was alienating the ones that were with PK from the very beginning. Now you rarely hear of PK anymore. Satan has found a way to drive people away from churches and groups like PK and it's working really well for him. When was the last time you heard any of the old hymns in church?
I wouldn't say it is disappearing all together. Just watch the Gaither Homecoming videos and see all the packed out auditoriums where they play. My wife and I go to them in Des Moines and the attendance is always amazing.
this is one of the greatest quartets we all have been blessed to hear share gods songs of love.. what a true blessings years after their passing it is all still true
There is power in the name of Jesus like no other Power just the mention of His name it takes me to Calvary where He paid for our Redemption that’s the reason we LOVE HIM
Incredibly great - this group transcends its Christian genre, the music is so great that fans like myself are here purely for quality of the Cathedrals singing....love that Ernie Haase as well!
This is so relaxing being familiar with modern CCM (Contemporary Christian Music). This trumps CCM as far as the biblical message of Jesus Christ, and joy in Christian living.
