I didn't know until just now there was a latin translation, and didn't think I'd enjoy it as I didn't imagine that it'd hold a candle to the original, but this was very very good :)

@linghun I think regional accents in Latin should be allowed. We cope with it in living languages to a large extent. As an aside I've been told by Roman Catholics, that I speak Latin with an Anglican accent, whatever that means lol
There are diverging traditions in the churches, that is true. Because the Pope still does his important speeches in Latin. Although the only recent Pope who was really at ease with that was Benedict, whose Latin sounded better than his native German... so I guess they were referring to these traditions of teaching.
I speak Spanish so I pronounce Latin more or less like a blend of Spanish and Italian. Ci and ce are like Italian, æ is like the Spanish ay, and œ is like it would be in French. Nobody really knows what Latin sounded like (and it likely varied tremendously from region to region anyway), so I say pronounce it as you best see fit. Given that so many languages now derive from Latin, we probably maintain much of the original pronunciation in our everyday speech anyway!
@ProductofWit "Europææ" is the genitive of the feminine adjective of "Europæus" = European, so "Unionis Europææ" means "of the European Union"; whilst "Europæ" is the genitive of the noun "Europa" = Europe, "Unionis Europæ" would mean "of the Union of Europe" :) That's all!
I think you are right. In Latin lesson we always read the 'c' like the 's' in sea, though our teacher told us that the correct way is to pronounce it like 'k'.
There are two options for pronunciation. In Classical Latin, it would be always pronounced as K (so Cicero would be Kikero). In Ecclesiastical (Church) Latin C is pronounced as it is in Italian language. It means C before vowels I or E is pronounced as ch/č/ć and before A, O, or U it is pronounced as K (Cicero would be Chichero). In my view, Church Latin is preferred, because it is still in use by the Church and i.e. the official language of the Holy See and Vatican City state and as such not a dead language.

In realtà sappiamo benissimo come pronunciavano i romani (quelli veri: Cicerone, Cesare, Settimo ec., non i papi) perché ai tempi dei romani i romani scrivevano sulla loro lingua, esistevano i grammatici ed i linguisti esattamente come adesso. Conosciamo addirittura gli errori comuni dei romani, ad esempio al posto di "urbs" spesso dicevano "urps", al posto di "Gaio Cesare" scrivevano "Caio Cesare" ec. la "c" non si pronunciava "c" bensì "k", infatti se dici "Cicero" non significa niente.

no, the pronunciation is not really right. in the classic latin pronuntiation for example "pacem" sounds like "pakem", the diphtongus "ae" is pronounced "a-e" and not "e", and "v" is pronounced "u"
Thing is, classical ended before the empire did. What I don't know is what Erasmus pronounced like, because that was the most important dreamer of a unified Europe: in reviving classical Latin, did he also revive the k? Or is that a later insight?

The sound of certain depends on the pronunciation scheme you use. In the one I'm use to using, ci, ce, cæ, and cœ are pronounced chee, cheh, chey, and chey. In other words, just like Italian. Of course, this video doesn't seem to use either of the most common schemes...
I thought in Latin the letter 'c' was pronounced as a hard consonant--shouldn't, then, 'caelo' be pronounced as 'kaelo' rather than 'saelo'? I could be wrong--been a while since I've used Latin.
when it come sto pronounciation they wrongly prounounce c like ce when it should be a K besides that I think the proununciation is fairly accurate but after all we dont know how it would have been pronounced in classical latin and latin changed in the middle ages as well

No it's not! Europa in latin would be pronounced like in Spanish or Italian, not "Oy". But anyway, latin is not spoken by native speakers any more, so how could we know? And it's nice to see this kind of mixing in Europe!
There is a mistake!! "Eu" both in old Latin and in old Greek is pronounced E-u...you mistake when you say that in Classical Latin this sound could be found... Not either in classic old Greek I ever found this sound!! E.g. Now in Greece "Thank you" is "Efcharistò" but it is written Eucharistó". So, there is a mistake in song pronounce!! PS I studied classical old Latin and Greek for 5 years!!!
Però i veri romani non pronunciavano i dittonghi uniti, quindi ae non lo pronunciavano /e/, ti non lo pronunciavano /zi/, questa è la pronuncia della chiesa, i veri romani pronunciavano tutte le lettere una ad una.
E' piuttosto scarso come latino. Innanzitutto "Europa est unita" non è affatto latino (unitus come aggettivo non esiste, come participio del verbo unio è un tecnicismo molto raro e tardo): in latino si sarebbe usato il verbo "coniungo". E anche il "diversitate" mi lascia perplesso. "diversitas" è un altro tecnicismo tardo (non è attestato in Cicerone) che sa di maccaronico. La forma poi nel complesso è piuttosto scolastica. Il contenuto però mi piace e approvo l'idea di un inno in latino.

Un latino un po' scadente... "Europa est unita" proprio non è latino (avrebbe utilizzato "coniungo") "In diversitate" è quasi maccaronico dato che diversitas è un termine tecnico astratto piuttosto tardo (in Cicerone non è attestato).
E va bene, non vogliamo tormare al italiano di Dante o al tedesco di Walther von der Vogelweide o al francese del Gargantua, c'è un sviluppo delle lingue incluso della lingua latina.
